It said under the rumor section that Pearl is on thin ice? I am wondering if it means they are considering to fire Pearl.

Not sure where I read this(in another thread iirc) but someone stated that they wouldn't be surprised that if/when more comes of this that Pearl doesn't get the axe. Not sure how serious this situation could get.

had a friend of mine, he's a bammer, email me this morning and asked if i had heard the rumor that pearl wld be out as coach by the end of the week. idk how many of ya'll listened to basilio this morning but i cldn't agree more with him. i rather take w/e penalty we get from the ncaa and have pearl still as our coach, then to fire pearl hire another buzz peterson and end up with no penalties. why? because at least pearl's teams are fun to watch, and pearl is entertaining. think of what will happen if pearls gone and they hire some boring coach. basilio said "it's a good thing they changed the seats in TBA to black because if pearl is out at least the you won't be able to see that no one is in the upper deck.

i said the same thing. i think this is much deeper than people realize. i would not be shocked to see bruce leave. i don't think the word fire would be used, but i think he may be forced to leave by hammy. so sad of a story, but-----:cray: :unsure:  :ermm:

It sounded like UT was aware of everything last week and decided to punish, not fire Bruce. So, we may or may not get additional penalties from the NCAA, but Bruce will be the coach next season.

At least, this is what I want to believe. We'll see.

if bruce goes, and we hire a complete doucher looks like i won't be watching the games

if this comes about, i don't know who we would hire this late in the year. we sure would not hire any of the assistants because they would have to go also.

Bruce has done a lot of wonders for recruiting for us. It just will suck if we go back to the Buzz days. We need him to stay to be honest. I just hope he can have one more chance.

As someone else posted in another thread, the timing of losing Bruce right now would be comparable to when Kiffin left.
It's a different situation. It takes longer to fix a football team than a basketball team, and our two biggest rivals aren't the best two programs in the country with the two best coaches in the country.

The only reason he wouldn't get fired (or hasnt been already) is because Hammy knows how hard it will be to find his replacement...like w/football.....if the 'AA is gonna hit us with a stiff penalty no matter if BP is the coach or not. At this point, I guess Hammy would rather keep BP around to suffer the consequences than to try and find a mediocre coach to replace him and field a team with C or D level talent while on probation. Not saying it's the right thing but jmho.

especially since our only choices are Houston, Buzz or Bruce

we have the facilities to get a good coach. thing is will we? if hammy is gone, and for some stupid reason Fulmer's fat arse is put in, do you think he'll really try to find a good coach?
