Mark Richt

Yes he will. I predict that he will not be the HC at Georgia next year, which will be good for our recruiting

If he drops a game to either Kentucky, Vandy, or Tennessee, he's in Trouble. With a capital "T."

I think today was the nail in the coffin. IMO, this will be Richt's last season in Athens..........

Not if they hire a real coach. Then, not only would they keep their top in-state talent at home, but they would actually accomplish something with it.

I hope UGA is stupid enough to keep him around for another decade.

We could hope for another Ray Goff, but I'm with you on hoping they keep him

Still not buying that Richt gets canned this year. He'll get 1 more year if for no other reason than he's playing a freshman QB.

David Pollack is currently petitioning the SEC for an additional quarter.

I agree unless they do something crazy like lose to vandy and Kentucky.

They looked awful in every phase of the game today.

they won't fire him. not yet anyway. despite all their b***ing they love him too much. if he loses to UT, UK, or Tech there will be calls for him to leave this offseason. I'd say if he doesn't produce next season he's gone.

Agreed, although I think "Richt is on the hot seat" is an accurate statement.

Two things are for certain...(1) Steve Spurrier has become the Angel of Death for SEC coaches. Lose to Spurrier two or three times, and you're history. And (2) Mark Richt needs to circle his wagons, because the noise emanating from Athens, even as we speak, sounds like UGA alumni and fans are headed down the war path.

On a more positive note...UGA and UF no longer look like automatic losses for UT...even considering the fact that AJ Green will be back for the UT game.

Go Vols.

I'm with you.

He'll struggle this year, but they'll get to 7 wins. His seat will get hotter, but they won't let him go.

And that's good news for Tennessee. Given another year or two, he won't return that program to prominence. That'll give Dooley a shot to sink his teeth in with high school talent down in Georgia, and give him a chance to elevate UT's program before UGA gets a jolt from a new coaching staff.

I think people really underestimate how well liked Richt is. There are rumblings from the fringe fans down here about letting him go, but he's got a tremendous amount of goodwill built up with everyone that matters.

And, though the program has visibly declined over the past four years, the lows haven't been that low yet. He's more like Fulmer circa 2003, than Fulmer 2008.

A losing season changes everything though.
