is wearing the legend Eric Berry's #14. Just thought i'd mention that. I will always think of EB when i see 14. By the way, is Doak eligible to play for us this season or does he have to sit out a year????

He will have to sit out. IIRC he was a 3 star coming out of high school. From what I can tell he is hands down a better scout team quarterback than Lamaison.

Question...can a transfer still fully participate in practice? If so, it seems like a pretty good deal for us to take a walk-on QB specifically for the purpose of having more practice depth.
We wouldn't go to a 4th stringer anyway. If we lost Simms, Bray, and Nance to injury, I'd hope we'd just go with G.Jones or M.Teague out of the shotgun.

What happens when you retire all the numbers?

There have been great players throughout the history of Tennessee that have worn just about every number

Jersey numbers aside he was a good walk on addition to the team IMO.

I hope it never happens were we lose our first 3 Qbs. But if it does, this guy would se the field. They would not run the G gun (wildcat) all game long.

Since numbers are infinite, we'll just have to move up the list or into the fraction and irrational numbers realm. Who wants to be the square root of 47? 1/9? 43,972?

Make a ring of Honor in Neyland Stadium with jersey numbers, name seating sections of the stadium, plaques in lockers in the locker room, area of media center and awards areas and the media guide are ways to honor these men. Retiring jerseys limits future generations to also add to the mystique of the number. I personally think seeing those numbers on other great players is okay. Also a great way for MH to "capitalize" on the situation is to ask donors to donate in memorium or honr on behalf of these great men.
