No bowl for Notre Dame; Fulmer interested in job Knoxville News Sentinel
I just tracked down former Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer at the AFCA coaches convention to gauge his interest in the open USF job. Fulmer didnt flat out reject the notion of coaching the Bulls, but he didnt give a ringing endorsement, either.
When asked whether he had inquired about the opening, Fulmer said, Not directly I have not.
When I asked if he would, Fulmer said, I may. It just depends.
I made a significant point when I got out of coaching that Im looking for a program thats committed to winning and being the best they can be. Certainly South Florida fits that profile."

You're off topic.
It was about Clawson.
But those articles indicate my version of events is far closer than yours concerning Fulmer and his "beating down the AD's door" stuff.
that's funny since this thread is not about Fulmer or Clawson.
And to all, please keep your repetitive arguments from contaminating the entire board

Sorry, but you're wrong. That thread of the conversation was about Clawson. However, it wasn't on the OP topic, admittedly.
This all started because I said Dooley was quietly going about the business of making UT better (regarding the increased camp attendees), and I felt he was an upgrade over the former coach. We see how such an inflammatory statement brings the denizens of the Volnation underworld into the sunshine.
An inflammatory statement inflames people? No way!!
We can call the 2nd greatest coach in our history "Fat Fill" but we can't say Dooley is an upgrade over the very erratic, 7-6, and very brief Kiffin regime.
