:banghead2: :good!:

yep.. the worst! them and the ppl who suck down their coffee ..

another sign that your tip is gonna be 10% or worse is when they stack all their plates ...

Yeah well my opinion on that is, if the server wasn't in the server station talking about what they did the night before or taking a smoke break, there wouldn't be any plates to be stacked.

not really true. I was a server all thru college and stack them to make it easier on the waiter. I also tip very well

Now if that stack of dishes sits on the table for a long time they may get a little less. A server thinking they can gauge a tip is often the type who complains about not making enough

I usually drink water and/or coffee with my meal. I will drink 5 glasses of water easily. I have had waitresses just leave me a pitcher of water on the table. I usually stack the plates and silverware and try to clean up any mess on the table(and floor if it's too bad). My wife will sometimes ask me if I left myself a tip. I know the waitress is there to serve me but it bothers me to see parents let their kids make a mess on the table and floor and leave it for someone else to clean up. I know their job is tough so I try to make it easier on them if possibable adn tip very well when they deserve it.

Just to add... Bad service will turn me against a restaurant quicker than the food not being up to par(once ot twice). That's just me. For some reason good service and a nice atmosphere will over shadow the taste of the food at first.

I work @ OG so the salad and or soup and bread refills must be accounted for yall. LOL....
1.Behr- I usually make the assumption that they will have the same drink throughout the main course. I offer a "desert" drink of sorts when I offer a specific desert.
2. I remove plate (as a rule of course) as they are done with them. Which is a bit tricky at OG because we serve endless salad. People will continue to eat salad throughout their meals often times, making it a crazy crowded table-top.

I got really annoyed Saturday when RV and I took R & T to a new park we found out about. It was really beautiful, with a lake and trails and such. It used to be an old quarry of some sort but it was beautiful. Until we started to notice the litter and broken beer bottles in serveral areas. Why do people look at a beautiful spot on this planet and think their empty water bottle will enhance it's beauty? We always leave a place cleaner than we find it and leave only our footprints.

if ppl only knew how many smoke breaks/etc. servers take during a shift... I can't imagine how management deals w/ servers and cell phones.... you would almost have to ban cell phones during a shift....

People leaving garbage behind had ruined a few fishing holes for me. I always made sure I cleaned up after myself and grabbed anything else I saw. Most have stopped anybody frome fishing.

When you ask someone a question and they say huh or what, then procede to answer your question.(If you heard me, why did you say huh?) Or when you ask a question and they repeat the question back to you before answering it.

I can tell you @ a well run restaraunt they only get to smoke after the rush. We get to smoke once the maj of people in have their food and the cooks windows aren't full. Then periodically (once or twice more) until the night is over. The cell phone thing is another issue. Its more like gum.;Its a no-no but. It goes on. The idiots get caught/ the slick ones carry on.

We were at O'charley's last week. We were sitting behind the bar. One of the waitresses kept coming over to the ice chest and whipping out her phone and texting. I bet she done it at least 10 times while we were there. I would have a hard time leaving my phone in the car if I was a waiter.

This may be too much info, but I am in the middle of a legal issue with my ex wife. My gripe is she is allowed to drag her heels and delay everything and the courts do zip about it. I had all my info ready when asked and she is given a free pass and takes as long as she wants to submit her info. This particular issue started in August 2009 and it STILL isn't resolved. I would think the courts would have a hard line against this crap. If she doesn't submit her financial info within the given time frame, slam her with an above average payment and make her get it re-done at her own expense. As it stands, she can just not give her info and they will use default numbers which lowball her info and I will have to do the work to get it changed.
