Oh, okay, so you are using something other than win-loss record as a head coach to determine "loser" status. The AL moral victory is an excellent point, too. Dooley definitely didn't almost have one against LSU, with WAC talent.
You also conveniently miss the abysmal defeat to UCLA, due solely to Kiffin's playcalling, the fact tha the loss to AL (which as you so eloquently pointed out, was due to Kiffin's superior coaching) was, in fact due to Kiffin's farting around with the ball and then trying to kick a field goal, after two other failed attempts. Then, of course, there's the blowout at Ole Miss where a single player ran circles around our entire defense. Oh, and the bowl game - that was another stellar performance.
Just to clarify, I am merely pointing out that there are arguments on both sides, and that one cannot intelligently deem Dooley a failure before he's coached a down in the SEC while touting Kiffin as an accomplished coach. Kiffin's record, and accomplishments, suggest otherwise.
And both are capable recruiters, by the way. To suggest that Dooley isn't is totally asinine.
Tennessee lost to UCLA because Brian Price treated the Sullins twins like the talentless walk-ons they were.
To suggest the Alabama game wasn't the incompetent kicker's fault is asinine.
The Ole Miss game was troubling. That was our fluke game in which we didn't show.
Nobody gave a damn about the Peach Bowl, and mobile QBs dancing around against a team with no LBs is never a good proposition for the D.
One could argue that your boy FLK f'ed up all three of those.
Slop left over from Fulmer. So Brown and Jackson don't count. He's talking about Eric Berry, Montario Hardesty, Dan Williams, Chris Walker, Wes Brown, Dennis Rogan. That kind of slop.

Really? So, Lincoln's physical inability to lift the ball over Cody is solely to blame? Okay. . . but the head coach and playcaller's decisions to:
1) Sit on the ball and not even attempt to gain any more yardage, and
2) put Lincoln in the position of having to kick a long field goal after he'd displayed his woeful lack of ability to do so on two previous occasions
were not in any way responsible? Not even a little. . . you're right, asinine.
He absolutely did, but it was his choice and nobody thought the 'SC job would be vacated so soon.
Kiffin was the right hire. If Pete Carroll doesn't head to Seattle, we're sitting here cracking jokes about O, debating the intentions of the latest smack from Lane, and anxiously awaiting the appearence of an offense composed of Markeith Ambles, Kyle Prater, Bryce Brown, Gerald Jones, and Luke Stocker. He would have found a QB, whether it be Simms/Bray/someone else, to perform competently before going after a stud in this upcoming class.
In regards to the field goals, the guy is 100% correct. That ball, if kicked higher, clears the outstretched hands of the guy with the worst lateral reach on the team.Really? This is my point exactly. He's typing his responses with one hand, and giving Kiffin a foot massage with the other. Way to represent UT, and show respect for the players.
I'm hoping Chuck Smith does well here, but when he coaches talent the likes of Russell Maryland, Warren Sapp, Greg Hardy, Peria Jerry, Shaun Cody, and is considered the second most important piece of a coaching staff for a team that dominates for 3 years, let me know.the current staff will do the same to our DL (most likely better but I'll just wait a season before claiming that)

Many forget the multitude of mistakes that were made from a game management perspective. There were way more head-scratchers than you would expect.
