What does hatvol mean by this?

Why not ask him yourself? Or do you lack the confidence to do so?

My interpretation is that he didn't think that Pearl would make it, and he since admitted that he was wrong.

Drop the riot act before you look any more ignorant.

Is it complex? I didn't realize your reading skills were that rudimentary. Pearl, like Phillip Fulmer, is a phony. He's a self serving, pious, and duplicitous. Tennessee fans eventually realized Fulmer was a fake. They'll do the same with Pearl in time.
How much time? I'm guessing not the 3 years you originally guessed? So you want to change it? That's fine.

Tell me hatvol, when are Tennessee fans going to realize Pearl is a "fake"?

What's the date on that post? I'm pretty sure it's not three years old. Tennessee fans will figure it out the next time a high profile job comes open and Pearl and his minions do everything within their powers to beg their way into contention for it. Then, all of this babble about "UT gave me a chance" and "I want to finish the job I started" will be seen for what it is, just noise.

Which proves nothing. If he loves it here so much, why did his pals the Pumps spend so much time last spring begging Arizona for an interview on his behalf? That's like saying because I'm not going to leave my law firm and go be the principal and basketball coach at my old high school I have some abiding loyalty to my firm and will never leave.

Hatvol, I've been reading your posts for a long time on this board... Some of them I agree with and some not so much, but not until today did I know for a fact that you were a lawyer. It all makes since now.. :)

Another prediction.

Priceless.

Those would be the same papers that had headlines stating "Cutcliffe to be hired at Tennessee", correct? You really should be careful about believing what you read.
:mf_surrender:

I don't read the KNS, can't stand Strange or Adams.

Enough arguing... There were reports he was offered the job by a few sources, but obviously they were wrong. :mf_surrender:

I defend nobody. I simply point out those who make irrational statements such as "Pearl is loyal for turning down Boston College."

So why are you defending the irrational statement hatvol made? You said he admitted he was wrong. And he hasn't. He actually still thinks hes right.

UT basketball was in worse shape when Pearl took over than BC basketball is now.
Which means BC can hire a coach from the Horizon League or equivalent. It doesn't mean they are going to be able to hire someone from a major conference.

Hatvol, you would call Bruce a fake for leaving for a better job, yet you defend Lane Kiffin like he's the second coming.

What gives?

I'll concede that I was wrong with that statement.

That being said, I still don't understand how turning down a job that is a step down from the one that he currently is at defines his loyalty. Just saying.

As I've said before, in my opinion 99.5% of the posters on this site are immature, undereducated, and proven losers. You thinking I'm stupid, or everyone on this site thinking I'm stupid wont make me lose a bit of sleep, big boy.

........and yet you approach 1000 posts, why?

Kiffin never ran around acting as if he was some sort of martyr for turning down jobs he was never offered. Kiffin was offered a better job, then took it. Period. Pearl did everything in his power to get the Indiana and Arizona jobs, couldn't even get an interview either place, then acted as if it was his loyalty to good ole UT that kept him in Knoxville. I don't think the difference is hard to discern.

It depends on what you are saying you're wrong about. I've most certainly stated Pearl did a much better job of adapting to his personnel than I thought he was capable of doing. However, that doesn't change the fact he's a disingenuous snake.

Ok so when he is offered a job, and he takes it he's fine? It's just asking for an interview that makes him fake? Let me guess, you have an insider in LA that told you Lane Kiffin never inquired about the USC job before it was offered to him?
