I was disappointed that he never got a technical. The team kinda needed a boost today.

Refereeing or lack thereof doesnt get you beat by 30. We just didn't show up today.

That wasn't a 30 point style loss. The beat us, but the final score doesn't reflect the play.

But it gets you down by double digits in the last four minutes, gets your team mentally out of it, and gets your players to foul out.

But ya, it doesn't get you beat by 30. It just puts you in a position to do so.

As I said in the game thread, regardless of the refs, UT should be embarrassed by they way they played today.

I partially agree. If some of the crap that was going on with Cousins in the first half (no fouls...but many committed) this is a different game. We may have lost...but not by the margin. Bad calls put you in bad situations...and can feed the other team. KY jelly got fed, and had the talent to put it away to the tune of 30.

look at how many fouls each team had and watch the whole game again and come retry another thread, when refs call that many bullcrap fouls on your guys and give the energy to ky just because cousins pushed down another then your team will slow down and get frustrated

We showed up. Wen KY hit the 3, which is rare, they're beating any and all comers.

Imagine playing two straight days in a row and then playing a third against the number 2 team in the country.

Weak excuse. These guys have all played dramatically more in shorter periods as AAU ballplayers.

Completely agree. When seniors are missing wide open layups you know you didn't show up.

I was also shocked to see Kentucky draining 3's. If they can keep that up, they have to be heavy favorites to win the national title.

The refs made sure that Chism spent as much time as possible on the bench in foul trouble. That will affect your team's play.

Agreed. Being tired, poor perimeter defense late, and poor decisions early all contributed.

But, basketball is a game of momentum. IF MSU gets up on FL yesterday because MSU shoots 65% from three point range, or UT gets up on MSU by 17 early because of poor defense and great shot selection by the Vols, or if KY gets up on UT early because of typical Ruppereeing, all three circumstances still irrevocably alter the course of the games. KY's early 15 point lead, MSU's early 15 point lead, and UT's early 17 point lead, all were the difference in that game.

The difference in the three is that MSU's and UT's self-created momentum couldn't last for 40 minutes -- it rarely ever does. But when the refs are in one team's pocket (especially KY in this conference) it lasts the whole game. And that is the difference between MSU getting a slight comeback, FL getting a slight comeback, and UT getting blown-out today.

Kentucky is the only team in the SEC (other than Vandy in Memorial) that doesn't have to play well for 40 minutes to be guaranteed a win. The refs are going to be there for them for the entire game.
