What a crock. He is leaving us on the edge of a precipice. We stand a good chance of losing a major portion of this year's recruiting class, which will only serve to enhance our rivals' recruiting classes. Unless we hire a top name very quickly, who can effectively salvage our recruits, we may very well see long-term damage, which will take years to overcome.

I know, the sky is falling thing. I'm not usually a chicken little type of guy, but this whole thing could be the equivalent of a horrific neutering of our program.

I'm afraid you're right. Unless we hire someone who can salvage this recruiting class quickly, then this year will be a loss. We have to make the right decision, though.

Thank Mikey for it. He's doing such a great job here. Jeez, what's it going to take to finally get rid of that little weasel.

We might as well just count 2010 and 2011 as a loss and go from there. I almost think we'd be better off waiting until next offseason and seeing who is available, and getting a good hire out of that than just taking the best we can get today and having to fire them and try again 3 or 4 years from now. It's not like we'll hire someone this week, and then be looking again once the coaching carousel starts up again next December. There will be a much better pool of candidates then than there are now. I realize that doing this would devastate our recruiting for this season and next, but at least maybe then we could find a decent coach who could start things back in a better direction.

Kiffin left us a 7-6 record and a recruiting class he is trying to take away. With the talent we are going to lose, this team might be much worse off than before he came here. That might be what he is telling himself in his head to ignore what a dick move he just pulled.

This is the biggest crock of crap he has tried to sell us yet. Him and his staff are doing everything in their power to deconstruct our recruiting class and send us to dark ages that make the end of the Fulmer Era look like championship football. Cooky old Al Davis had it right. Lane is a liar.

The best 14 months I could have asked for! Way to screw up the program, Lane. Thanks a lot! I'm laughing MAO at how low Tennessee is positioned due to this fiasco. It's just friggin' hilarious. I'm sore from all this laughing. Bye bye decent recruits, bye bye any respect. The laughing stock of the SEC. What Mississippi is to Arkansas education, Tennessee is to Arkansas football. If you UTers don't understand that then that explains a lot! UT is pitiful, just pitiful. Go HAWGS!!!!

It must hurt to be so relevant that Les Miles can't even pronounce your school name.

Hey, Bro. We're still Tennessee. Davy Crockett, Sargent York, General Neyland, James K. Polk, Jack Daniels, B.B. King, Elvis Presley, Acuff-Rose, the Manhattan Project and all that. We helped establish Texas, complete our manifest destiny and win the second World War with the atomic bomb.

You guys gave the world Clinton, and, although he had to come to Tennessee to be somebody, Johnny Cash. Am I missing anything?

We'll be okay.

I am utterly pissed that our recruiting class might fall somewhere down there where yours is. We'll probably finish ahead, but not by enough to truly matter.

They jump started the car, put a brick on the accelerator, and pointed it towards the edge of the cliff.

They applied a band-aid when we need stitches.

We have to rebuild again. This makes 2009 a wash, unfortunately. I'm hopeful for 2012 if we can make a good hire.

I am not a sky is falling guy either. I give people a hard time on here all the time for doing that, but this is BAD!!!

If we can salvage a top 15 recruiting class this year it will help. If we fall out of the top 20 it is going to set us back a couple of years because of how thin we were to begin with at a lot of positions.
