What fun it will be to mention Saban as CUM's replacement. Can you imagine the denials of the denials.:)

I don't think even the bammers would fall for that. Nick will retire at bama, he is 60---has 5 more years at best.

If Foley wanted to really screw with Bama he'd request permission to interview Saban and leak that to the press.

It would be nice to get all the same quote from Saban that he gave when he was with the Phins again.

He's great at this game. :)

If that happens the hellgates will open. College football will be more of a joke than it is today, and that's saying a lot.

But, a recent financial article I read said that Saban has paid for himself nearly 3 times over in merchandising and licensing. Maybe it is a business now. :ermm:

Someone said a while back on here that Saban, and especially his wife, didn't like living in Bama (WHO WOULD) so this isn't terribly out of the question, but IMO I just see Stoops moving to Gainesville!

Would your wife like the paycheck? Saban has lake property in Georgia that he loves. You might as well say he'll be the next coach of the Bulldogs.

You'll notice Spurrier stays close to the golf courses. The big names are as close as a chartered flight to their favorite location.

This would be ideal. Meyer, Tebow, and Saban all leaving. Hahahahaha. But who would we hate?

Saban calls Meyer a 'great person as well as a great coach' (LINK)

Alabama coach Nick Saban has issued a statement in reaction to today's breaking news that Urban Meyer will step down as Florida's head football coach following the Jan. 1 Sugar Bowl against Cincinnati because of health concerns.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Urban and his family at this time," Saban said. "He is a first class coach and the success he's had is unmatched in our profession, especially over the last five years at Florida.

"We hope he is able to regain his health and have the opportunity to coach again in the future. Urban Meyer is a great person as well as a great coach, and the game of college football is better with him as a part of it."

i disagree. Certain schools dont request permission knowing they will be turned down. That would be an ultimate insult. it hurts their egos. Foley will be calculated to his choices, Those he KNOWS will say yes!

I was here during the whole Coach Fran to aTm episode. Not pretty. One of the Bham radio stations had a bunch of Fran bobbleheads, so they let people take a swing at them with a driver for a charitable donation.
