Auburn is now in his top 3 with UL and Miss St

Says Auburn is risinig fast though and would be an EE if he signs with them per Espn insider

At least he's not considering Georgia or Alabama; that would be a real slap in the face. But Auburn is apparently rising fast on former Florida QB Cameron Newton's list of possible destinations. The 6-foot-6, 240-pounder was Tim Tebow's heir apparent until he got into trouble with a stolen laptop, eventually transferring to Blinn JC in Texas. Now, after leading Blinn to the NJCAA title, Newton is again a wanted man (by coaches, not by cops).

The Tigers lose Chris Todd to graduation, with Neil Caudle and Tyrik Rollison (who was suspended earlier this month) expected to battle to succeed him. But if Newton signs, he'd enroll in January and could enter the spring as the favorite to be Auburn's next QB.

Mississippi State might be the leader in the clubhouse for Newton, given his relationship with coach Dan Mullen, formerly Florida's O-coordinator. Don't rule out Louisville, now coached by former Gators D-coordinator Charlie Strong, getting into the mix as well. The other schools on his list (Arizona, North Carolina, Oklahoma, the ubiquitous "others") all seem less likely candidates.

I hope we don't have to see him in the SEC. I already feel bad enough that we passed on him...don't want him to have the chance to rub our faces in it later. If he goes to OU or AU, He's going to be tearing up some defenses...at MSU, I don't think he'll have enough talent around him to have as much of an impact.

Well folks at least We found the president of the Matt Simms fan club...Is he dating your sister or something because for his lack of achievement at the college level you sure do take up for him an awful lot...At least Newton has shown he can compete at a high level...Simms has yet to prove that.

Yeah listen to him, Newton proved he can compete on a big time stage. He was involved in 16 plays as a backup and garnered about a 100 yards. He did however get to play in games that they ultimately won by at least 25 points or more. Look if a kid is dumb he is dumb, deal with it and he really is a stand up character guy. Are you also going to use a tradgic situation such as the one this morning and tell us that Chris Henry was a model NFL role model??

This could may or may not be good, but we are not looking for thugs or trouble makers.

The kid and his dad are butt hurt bc scroggons was our priority when we were in the running for him. Also the kid has an IQ that rivals j Russel of Oakland.

Maybe so. I can forget Cam for the laptop crap. But this is what bothers me about him coming to Auburn. From some of his comments, he wants to be THE qb guy if not THE guy on the Auburn football team. He doesnt wanna have to compete for the job. Are you kidding me? Chiz probably told him to go fly a kite. Chiz is trying to build our program back up without any chaos and that kinda attitude will send our qbs transfering and team infighting and we dont need that. Maybe Im wrong about the guy. Hope so. Hope he comes to Auburn and everything is hunky dory.

AU is doing it up. Im not shy about giving credit where credit is due. what sucks for you guys is that you will never beat bama while saban is there, period. he will dominate instate recruiting and you cant win without instate players. also, your OC will jump ship in the next year or so and you will promote TT, hahahahahhahaha. See how that works out for you.

Do your homework. That trash beat us by 5 points. With no depth. We helt that Ingram person to 30 yds. Your kidding with that right. They are fixing to get their arses handed to them by not only us but other teams. You cant stay on top forever. And AU and other teams have to do it with out cheating. That is hard to do. They pay players.As for Malzahn, what do yall do pull peon coaches out of a hat and give them credit? Ive said this fifty times. He is a high school coach. Chiz runs that team. Not Malzahn. I dont care if he stays or goes. He hasnt proven a damn thing. We didnt have him in 2004 and we dont have to have him now. There is way bet ocs. I dont see any university knocking down our door to get this guy. And if they did it would be a pissy job, just like he had before he came to AU. We should have never let Chiz leave AU in the first place. Bad mistake.

I'm sorry but the only thing that "Chiz" will run is...your team into the ground after Malzahn leaves

Sorry fan base, hes the best. I wouldnt trade him for any other coach in the nation. I dont care who they are. Saban is getting to old and getting older. Dam near bald headed. Chiz works out everyday, you would never know the man was 47. Lots and lots of yrs left for him at AU. The only other coach I like as much him or better is my old school man Patrick Fain Dye.

I love a Barn fan calling UA out. The only school the NCAA is visiting right now in the state of AL is the Barn. You might want to do your homework right now before you post. BTW a win is a win so when the Barn can pull one off come talk to us.

Also your coach has to be able to recruit besides just coach. All he can get is leftovers from us and other SEC recruits. Miss St and Ark are better coached and will have better teams next year. But just like on the Barn boards everybody is a Barn silent.

Auburn will always be Bamas red headed step child to anyone except an Auburn fan. It doesnt matter how many games they win in the future...thats just the national perception.
