Tennessee under NCAA investigation over use of recruiting hostesses

Actually you twit, I'm insinuating that the name "hooters" refers to mammary glands, rather than an owl.

And I am saying that this "orange pride" or whatever group there is, is a bit more than just a student organization to support the football team. If you can't put 2 and 2 together on this, then you're naive.

I'll abstain from the name calling but you seem to be putting 2 and 2 together and getting a threesome....

So, there are 10 cars driving down the interstate doing 75 in a 70. A cop observes this and pulls over the Corvette with out of state tags. After searching the car (while other drivers that the cop is buddies with drive by doing 100), taking the driver down town for questioning and a strip search, leaking to the media and the drivers friends and family that there could be serious accusations and damaging his reputation, he is given a speeding ticket and sent on his way.
I'm not much for conspiracy theories, but the more these things happen, the more I envision Urban Slive in the background smiling. Especially the part about questioning recruits and their parents in their homes at this point in the recruiting season. It's the college football version of the political October surprise.

UPDATE: Miss Earps and the other hostesses are actually in the Tennessee Football Media Guide. She's a captain in Orange Pride, "a group of students whose primary duty is to promote the University and its strong academic programs, rich traditions, and winning athletics program to campus visitors and potential student-athletes." where was the Orange Pride when I was being recruited by UT?

(to run track)

A guy on the radio from the Byrnes HS area in SC just said that the Byrnes HS coach is the one who called the NCAA after Latt informed coach Bentley (Byrnes HS coach) that there were UT hostesses in a motel room with other Byrnes players (who were UT commits). Furthermore, the room and the alcohol involved was charged to Kiffen's credit card.

Just passing along what I heard on the local Knoxville radio.

Wow, that would be too good to be true.

what i was just sent via email
If Kiffin was actually stupid enough to use his own credit card to by a room and alcohol for hostesses and players, then we have completely misjudged him this entire time.

I can't imagine that being true.

That is exactly what is so damaging about this. Whether or not anything comes of the actual violations....put yourself in the place of a highly sought after recruit:
There's a knock on the door, and it's an NCAA investigator asking about Tennessee's recruiting practices.
Then the next knock on the door is Nick Saban or Urban Meyer. Not hard to guess what they're going to say to a recruit and to his parents.

agreed completely, I don't believe this at all, but seeing how there was a thread on it, I just figured I'd contribute what I was sent. TFWIW

Not directed at you by any means but... this is completely and utterly ridiculous.

Why would the head coach leave such a paper trail like this knowing good and well that everything he does is under a microscope.

Stupid rumor. If true then CLK needs to be fired for being a complete moron and not knowing how to circumvent the rules of recruiting.

If this ends up as a dead end for the NCAA, I would expect a very well deserved lawsuit care of some young ladies.

Exactly... and you have to wonder just how coordinated these visits are.

Exactly.... I'm not a "tin-foil hat" kinda guy but apparently CLK has ruffled enough feathers that there is an orchestrated attempt (on whose part remains to be seen) to cut Tennessee off at the knees where recruiting is concerned... I'll bee interested to see how Kiffin & co. deal with this and what Hammy will have to say later on today....

Look man, I wasn't trying to be funny or a smarta**. What I posted really did happen last night. No, I will admit, I have not searched for it again today because I felt no need to. All I was doing is telling you what happened to me but I won't make that mistake again.
Sorry.

you missed what I was saying...it has been removed from the VN ...but is still available to download and print....not taking a shot at you bro:good!:

Guys, this radio show rumor is stupid. Even if it was said we have no way of knowing the context of it. They could have been joking about the whole situation and absurdly speculating about what else may have happened. If they said there was a hotel room where the players partied and that was that, perhaps, but to include the whole credit card thing, please. Point being it's a SC radio show that's not going to show favor for UT.
