From what I have heard and been told in the past by people in and around the program and people directly associated with the hostesses and their transgressions, to put it lightly this could be really really bad. Due to the message board comment on the NYtimes articls, i'm declining to say anything more
Exactly. It's not as though I am a family friend. I am part of the family. It makes no sense for some of these rules. I could go on and on. It's just rather dumb on how careful I have to be at work. One slip up and uh oh the NCAA is after me for rubbing my hair the wrong way. :nono:
While this isn't a major violation and isn't directly related to the university, it has to be a BIG concern. I would suspect that the NCAA will open a major investigation into the program now. Having worked for NCAA institutions, after 'allegedly' being accused of six secondary violations in one year, the NCAA typically will do an intensive major violation investigation.
But, again not saying it's fair...Sounds like a lot of other coaches are trying to knock Kiffin down while they can. There are plenty of other university hostesses that do the same thing and are even more 'intense' than those at UT.
Thats funny you say that since Ohio State has committed over 400 minor violations (football program only) in the last 8 years...that averages to 50 self reported minor violations a year...yet no investigation was necessary? And this story is crap!! Im really sure the hostesses out in Hollywood at USC are some real bow-wows! give me a break
While NCAA might look at message boards, they can't be used as a reliable source. Joe Blow might post on here Dandy Dawn took him out for a few beers and that's why he went to Tennessee. BUT if they message board fodder as the god-honest truth, then we as fans are screwed. That doesn't mean they aren't gauging to see what the fans are thinking or chitt-chatting about this topic.
I always understood that as long as you could establish a prior relationship, then it wasn't an NCAA violation. But that doesn't sound like the case based on what you are saying.
There is absolutely no way that message board talk is at all responsible for the NCAA launching a full scale investigation.
