This via ESPN Insider. Tebow said he would change positions to play in the NFL. That's good, because he has some of the worst mechanics I have ever seen from a college QB.

Also from ESPN Insider, Saban is goinghard in recruiting in wake of the Tide destroying the Gators. His current target...Christian LeMay.

Interesting to see what transpires with Coach Sunseri, he is the primary recruiter for LeMay, and he is rumored to be going to FSU.

.

Its really a shame for him that in 4 years he didn't get any decent coaching and still throws the ball the exact same as he did as a freshman. With any type of QB coach he could have been a pro quarterback, he has the strength and intelligence, just absolutely no mechanics. He has one of the slowest windups I have ever seen.

Your right, he has poor footwork too, he throws like it's a baseball.

His back foot comes way off the ground, and he has that long wind-up delivery, three-quarters as well.

He will be an H-back and will probably see some time in the "Wildcat".

Anybody else feel like this is going to be an Eric Crouch like disaster?

No, Crouch didn't want to play another position and never had his heart in it, in his comments he said the he would play to the best of his ability and with all his heart at whatever position they wanted him to play.

He will work out at more than just QB for the scouts.

He would never be a good NFL QB though.

tebow is dumb as a rock. don't let the 'preaching' let you think differently.

Yeah he only has a 3.75 GPA. I have talked to him in class before and he is pretty well spoken especially compared to most of the football players.

SAT score and frankly just listening to the man.

I can't speak on his actual intelligence, but on the football field he made good choices throughout his career.

Not enough to be a NFL QB though.

Exactly. Any professor can make the kid have an A or B in a class just because of who he is to the team/college football/how famous he is.

He just looks dumb to me. That stupid smirk when he talks just puts it over the top.

Vince Young was dumb as a rock and had awful mechanics coming out of college.

How college QB's will do in the NFL is impossible to gauge. The key is the same for QB's as it is for any other player transitioning to the league ever; making the game slow down. If Tebow can do that, I would bet that he can be molded into a decent QB. That all has yet to be seen.

So the tell-all of intelligence is SAT scores and public speaking these days? Haha.

i defy you to find a single example of tebow saying anything remotely insightful. all i'm asking for is one quote. shouldn't be too tough if he is a bright guy considering he's on tv 24/7.

I disagree, it is not impossible to gauge. Comparing VY's mechanics to TT isn't fair, VY may not have had the best but they weren't as bad as TT.

By the way, VY is on a nice run, but it's easy to throw the ball when you have a RB going for a 150 every game. Just saying.

Okay, so put Tebow (with a couple years of good QB coaching under his belt) on a hot offense with arguably the best running back in the league and I'll bet you he could succeed as well.

I don't know if he is "dumb" or ill-spoken since every time he's in front of microphones, he, like every other star college player, has to say the PC thing. It's not new.

Even if he is dumb, it wouldn't necessarily stop him from succeeding in the league.

What it will take with Tebow is knowing if the game slows down for him once he's in the pros. This is why it's nearly impossible to write off any QB in the NFL until they've had a reasonable shot.

Exactly.

Also, any kid can earn an A or B in a class just by committing themselves and studying hard.

But since he looks "dumb" and smirks, it has to be professor handouts. No chance the kid applies himself in the classroom the same way he does in other areas of life.

and you say tebow sounds dumb...

this is florida we are talking about, not vanderbilt, and he is tim tebow. is it REALLY out of line to imply that it wouldnt' be that difficult for him to get a couple of As?

lol, going to go out on a limb here and say any quote offered is going to judged subjectively...

I have never said he is dumb, not in any capacity. I just don't think that he has what it takes to be an NFL QB.

He has had 3 years of being a starting QB at a major university, he has yet to show any improvements in his mechanics, this is just one man's opinion.

.........wait..........Ronnie Milsap just called, he concurs.

The "dumb" part was directed more towards droski.

And mechanics are absolutely something that can be learned by anybody willing to listen.

If a female Bama fan can be coached to hit a close target that many times in a row, Tebow can be taught how to properly throw a football.

That's how it's going to turn out. If he can cope with the game speed in the League, Tebow will probably turn out to be an okay quarterback. Speed, speed, speed.

Look at how he fared against 2 NFL type defenses.

Alabama and UT, not so hot. Best thing he did was running the ball, he won't run past or through players at the next level. AT least not at the QB position.

translation: i can't think of a single thing

what does that tell you exactly?

EXACTLY? it tells me i've lived in spain for the better part of college football season and don't get to see or hear tebow much.

even still, i doubt i would have memorized anything the kid said. frankly because nobody in the college football universe says anything thats really worth remembering, including kiffy cakes.
