How would you know? You never saw him play.
Before you annoint someone with the "greatest ever" title, make sure you have some knowledge of history, and don't annoint simply the newest flavor.
How old are you?
Old enough to know that Mario Hardesty is a very good back, but that you cannot annoint him as a "best ever." Old enough to know that Dal Sheely and Bill Battle were wasting Stanley Morgan at running back. Ole enough to laugh and still wonder why Kelsey Finch still holds the longest run in UT history (99yds) when he was not very fast. Old enough to have seen Marcus Allen play for Southern California against UT in Knoxville...not there was a great back. Old enough to know that Curt Watson deserves mention as one of the great UT backs. Old enough to have enjoyed Garner, Hayden, and Stewart on the same team, mowing down the opponent in the 4th quarter with fresh legs. Old enough to have seen Johnnie Jones, and know that he deserves mention. Old enough to know that Reggie Cobb deserves mention. Old enough to have seen Monterrio Hardesty, and see all that talent wasted.
Old enough to know that Chuck Webb had more talent than any other UT back.
Young enough to be able to discuss intelligently matters such as this.
