I think the attitude/discipline problem is what lowers Cam's prospects with UT and that the recent problems with Nuke, Mike, and JJ will make this staff for more risk averse in evaluating candidates.
A clean program is a high priority. Frankly, they can and will recruit talent that comes without all the baggage.
On Cam's talent side, in spite of the never-ending criticism of the following perspectives, Newton projects better as a tight end or reciever in the NFL. He's just too physical to be employed as a QB at that level.
Prediction: He'll play QB at MSU, but his NFL draft will be much, much lower than he could have attained had he been smart enough to make the transition to a position that could use his athleticism and physical dominance during his college years. If he was willing to make the transition to a more physical position now, he'd be ideal at UT (assuming he learns how to behave... which would take a lot of convincing from his side to get the UT staff to take a chance). That'd make him about 4th on the QB depth chart getting time to take snaps in the event the first two (Bray/Stephens/(Scroggins/Rees/other developments TBD) go down. He has NFL athleticism, he just needs to apply it to a more physical position.
