Give the kids what they want. Play Little Willy rap music on loud speakers all over the campus. Don't allow anyone over 50 on the campus. Don't allow any student to register until they show you an ugly tattoo. The uglier, the more discount you get on tuition. Go Big Black. Change is a coming.

I LOVE the black helmets, but only for Halloween. I don't want to see that all year. If/when they do it next year they really need to work out an entire uniform to match. It really looked like the just grabbed a black jersey from the XFL and put it on over the old ones.
Go black with proper trim and all throughout the uniform including the helmet for JUST the game closest to Halloween each year and it will be great. It makes the holiday a little exciting for the fans and obviously gets media attention and recruits. GO VOLS!!! In big orange or in big black as long as we win BIG!

If it gets the team fired up to play hard, then pink tie-dyed jerseys are ok with me! :rock::rock::rock:

agree with the OP. ive heard some people make outrageous statements about how they wouldn't be vols fans anymore if they continued to wear a certain COLOR.

i personally wasnt crazy about the uniforms... probably because of the helmets. i would like to see all black head to toe or none. but regardless, if the the Vols switched to purple as the official color I would still cheer for them.

I get why they did it and I've made my thoughts known ad infinitum... But the whole black uni deal just makes us seem like UGA copycats.... Tennessee is better than that. I don't doubt for one minute that we'll trot out those hideous jerseys at some point in the future and when it happens, as long as we're throwing tradition out the window, why not just go all the way with black pants & helmets to boot. The orange pants really didn't fit with the rest of the look...

I think you will see all black next time, which IMO will look sweet. This time it was kind of rushed and not enough time for all black.

Please God, no black helmets. I'm fine with the jerseys but not helmets. Georgia looked like dorks in their lids.

Were there black-eyed Susan's on The Hill? Everything I've read just mentions daisies on The Hill, thus the orange and white.

(For the record, I enjoyed the win in black jerseys...)

My older cousin played at Tabb in the early 80's and used to come down from VA once a year to go to a game and stock up on Vol gear that only had the power "T". Their unifors were almost identical to UT's so I am not sure when they switched to black helmets.

Speculation is running rampant! I trust CLK to use this as a recruiting tool and to only bring out the black at key moments. Our colors are Orange and White, but a little black sure makes that orange jump.
