How many like the Black Jersey's

Need a different combination, if your gonna do it.

With no black on the pants or helmet, it does not look very good.

I understand it for the novelty of Halloween, but I don't think I could handle it on a regular basis. I loved the fact that the jerseys did not have names on them and think using that on our orange and whites isn't a bad idea at all.

Those jerseys were clutch...especialy since they changed em after pre-game to shock the crowd. Very well done.

I like them for Halloween home games. I hope it becomes a new tradition. I also enjoy some of the overly sensitive people's reaction to them around here. I bet these are the same people that are at the games telling people to sit down and shut up.:eek:lol:

I believe Kiffin has made it clear that he is going to do, what he and the team want to do.
Don't think he cares what you, I, Slive or anyone else thinks. And I think I like it.

I strongly disagree. Since we pretty much pay his salary, he better care.

I could care less about the jerseys. As long as the guys play well and are prepared for the game, they can wear anything they want.

Just an FYI, we were going to wear black pants but they didnt get made in time. I have no if there would have been stripes on them and if so what colors but we were going to be all black with a white helmet, just didnt get made in time. The jerseys were made within 48 hours after the players lobbied Hammy for them.

I can take them or leave them. If Kiffin want's to wear them on Halloween that's cool...
I like our Orange and white unis better tho.

Oh yeah.... Now I understand. Thanks for the clarification! :fool:

My point was that your point was poorly stated and unclear. That's why my simple logic holds up.

If you're trying to say that there is an emotional attachment to the orange of the Big Orange, then NO S**T!!!

Personally, I think that there should be a jersey change, but all black or all orange is the wrong answer. I think that it should be a combination of the two.
Not like the Bengals, but maybe slightly inspired by their “creative” design.
I must say that while I was born and raised in the South, I have always liked Michigan’s helmets. They’re sleek looking.
And that’s why I think our art department could help out (though I’m sure that would never happen). It’s all about badass designs these days. The Vols need to look more badass.
It’ll help their attitude.
(note: I'm not saying that we should change our uniforms that much--but maybe we should think outside the box just a bit.)

I mean, UT doesn’t exactly have a threatening mascot. A hound dog isn’t particularly threatening--unless you’re an escaped convict or something. :p
I must say that even a gamecock is more threatening than poor ol’ Smokey (I love Smokey, but you know what I'm saying...maybe...).
And something should be done about that.
That's why I fully support a jersey change for the UT football team.
The problem is, too many fans are too conservative (and, to be sure, I'm as fiscally conservative as a person can be). So a "democratic" vote would probably not result in much of a "change." :eek:lol:

For goodness sake...this post followed by your next couple is some of the goofiest babbling I've seen on this site.

You say the jerseys affected the performance, but you still fail to grasp the concept that it pumped everyone up simply because was "new". How exciting is a black jersey at MTSU, Louisville, FSU, Georgia now? I'll answer it for you....it's NOT. The newness wore off, it's passe now, and it did nothing for their programs long term.

Changing jerseys doesn't seem to be an issue at Alabama, USC, Ohio St., Texas....they all seem to get along great without having to be "pumped up" by a new jersey. By your logic we'll need a new jersey every year.

As far as your bigot comment, you're a freakin' idiot. Talk about proving how much you miss the point.

The jerseys didnt have names on them cause the decision wasnt made to go with them until 48hrs before the game. CLK said that it was a last second decision to go with them on the lane kiffin locker room show last night after the game. The players didnt even know about it until Friday night during a team meeting. Personally I liked it for this game on this night. I bet the recruits loved it. CLK also said this is a players game and that the players had been begging for the black unis all season. Anyone who was in Neyland last night when the boys came to the end of the tunnel and where in black could feel the crowd come alive.

Lane Kiffin--motivational genius!

I think the black jerseys were one part of a motivational whole: Kiffin working to get his team past the Alabama loss.

To say they didn't have influence in getting the mission accomplished is to ignore the influence morale has on the outcome of any competition.

Come out thinking about blocked field goals from last week...and that South Carolina team will beat you.

Other...I'm Orange & White traditional, but as long as they win, they can wear pink polka dots for all I care!

Didn't really care for them but they could wear turquoise and I would back them.

It's cool for Halloween. They should put black stripes on the pants, next time though

I think they would have looked better with white pants with an orange stripe outlined in black. Also, should have had black helmets to with it. Layla should have designed them for Kiff.

agree with the above... I can't believe this is at 77% like. Blackouts only make sense when... well black is one of the colors in the school's team colors. I thought the uniforms were hideous and looked very tacked on.

yeah, and what about that blue the lady's wear...

I thought that it was a smart decision. Last night was a critical point for the team. If we lost last night our team might have trouble getting into a bowl. Spin all this controversy over jerseys before the game ... shock the opposing team by wearing black on Halloween ... get the crowd into the game from the start by pre-game orange and then running through the T in Black ... pump up the team early by pumping up the crowd ... all of this equals ... Lane Kiffin is a really really smart guy ... Great for Halloween, but thats all.

i liked em.... the way they looked, the way the team responded, and the way it all came together

I strongly disagree. Since we pretty much pay his salary, he better care.

About what? Your taste in uniforms?

His job is to rebuild this program, win games, and compete for championships.

He can do that in black jerseys, as Zora Clevenger and John Bender once did. Or he can do that in orange jerseys, as Neyland and others have done. Just as long as he does it, the vast majority of fans will be fine with any uniform variation he chooses to break out.

Kiffin's job is to recruit players, get them ready to play, and win ballgames. How he does it is his business. He appears to be pretty dang good at it.
