How many like the Black Jersey's

I believe that the Adidas jerseys come without names on them, and a separate company adds the names onto the jerseys.

Actually, the company locally (SM Athletics) that does all of the embrodery for UT and adidas, including the names on some jerseys, manufactured these uniforms on two days notice.

The numbers were screenprinted instead of the normal sewn tackle-twill because there wasn't time to cut and sew all the numbers.

SM applies the SEC patches to the normal jerseys, so they had enough on site to put those on. The "T" collar patches are attached by the normal manufacturer (Ripon, out of Wisconsin), so there were not enough of those on hand to apply to the jerseys.

For it to be pulled off in 48 hours time, I thought they looked good....If they were going to do it from the get go and knew about it, they would have looked a lot better

Once a year. And we need orange helmets to go with the black and can wear them some with the white or orange jerseys.

anyone *****ing about the unis needs to have been at the game.

It's great for one game, but you have to realize all that excitement was because it was brand new. That's why it needs to be rare. You do it several times a year and the excitement is gone.

One of my first thoughts about why they didn't have their names on the jerseys was for "team cohesiveness"--i.e., no sense of the individual but, rather, a group, team mentality.
Then I figured that they had only recently ordered the jerseys.

I very much appreciate the effort put forth by the coaching staff to "make a change."
Even the little modification of changing the major color of the jerseys obviously made a huge difference in the MENTALITY of the players.
And isn’t that what it’s all about--the players’ MENTALITY?

Personally, I think that the black is an intelligent, bold move, and that--with the right design (meaning, maybe not so heavily black, but with a definite mix of black and orange)--the Vols may overcome the psychological limitations that they have been struggling against over the past several years.

Which is why it should be done only once a year. If they get stupid and make it more than that, the excitement will wear off quickly.

By that logic, any colored jersey worn more than once a year will quickly wear thin on the fans.
I understand where you're coming from, but I do not agree with your conclusion.

By your logic, the orange jerseys would have become extremely boring a long, long time ago.
But that's not what you're trying to say, is it? :wink2:

I thought they looked good...but maybe next time put White stripes down under the arms to match up with the White stripes going down the pants.
