Because they were ordered mid-week. That does not leave much time for numbering and lettering. Also notice the lack of SEC and VOLS on the shoulder as well.

I can break it down into simplistic terms.

But usually the problem is that a person just doesn't care; or perhaps there are too many words; or (most often) the alcohol has created a blur-factor (as it has done in most of our cases--mine most definitely included [hell, I joined this forum in a druken state!]).

they need some black in the pants or something. the jerseys were pretty sweet, but the whole uniform didn't look that great.

Come on man...I was as against the black jerseys as anyone but I still watched and enjoyed the game.

If it becomes the full time jersey, or even worn more than once a season, then I'll complain but the actual jerseys didn't look too bad really.

The names were written in black, you just couldn't read black on black.

In all seriousness, they probably didn't get the jerseys in on time. I believe that the Adidas jerseys come without names on them, and a separate company adds the names onto the jerseys.

i was in the stadium and i can say that when they first entered the tunnel where the shirts could be seen, the whole place went nutz. the student sections was out of control :)

For a Halloween "trick," okay, but not a fan of the black jerseys.

Were they Kiffin's idea or Hamilton's?

Which is why it should be done only once a year. If they get stupid and make it more than that, the excitement will wear off quickly.
