I liked the black. I wouldn't mind them getting them out once a year or so. Some black helmets would have looked pretty sick with them

OK...for this one time on Halloween night. Don't want to see those black jerseys again. They are pretty ugly, but it sounds like the teenyboppers like 'em. Anyhow, the Vols were smacking those chickens pretty well tonight. Dan Williams was a beast!!

I'm just referencing a relatively recent article in the Metro Pulse from Sept. 3, 2009 about Johnny Majors. Unfortunately, I can only find the cover page of that (#36) issue, but I'm pretty damn sure I more-or-less referenced the article faithfully. The Metro Pulse may only be a second hand source, but at least it's a source.

You should go ahead and have fun trying to prove me (or my reference) wrong. Unfortunately for you, if you've ever seen UT colors from half-a-century ago, they are a darker, rust-like orange--not the light, neon-esque orange that we have today.

i liked the black jersey, but i didn't like the combo. you either need to go with an orange helmet to match the orange pants or...

go with black pants and the white helmet.

I think we did better with the black scheme than Georgia did today. Their helmets were atrocious.

I do think that some "artistic" changes need to be made, but the concept is solid.
I'm down with making UT a more badass-looking team. I mean, I love the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, but that shade of orange is . . . kinda lame. It doesn't really scream "I'm gonna kick your ass!!!" It's more like, "don't I look pretty in the Fall?"

We need some black in the scheme.
I think that the traditional shade of orange coupled with black looks awesome--but we need some better designers.

UTK has a great art department.
Let's get some of them to hook us up!

I see the potential for a great fundraiser (type-of-thing) in our future.

I'm all about changing/improving this football program.
We should be better than we are.
If you know anything about psychology, colors and designs can be surprisingly motivational for people.

Aren't you all ready for a new era of Tennessee football?!?!

ditto. i think that's what i had a problem with the most. they just didn't go well together

The black jerseys didnt look as good as i thought they would and I would have liked to seen the names on them. The black top with the orange pants white helmets lacked flow in the overall uniform. It looked to pieced together.

I don't mean to be negative, but when was the last time you saw UT play with that much energy and passion?

They played "holistically"--better than the sum of their parts.

They didn't even do that when they had Peyton Manning. They played according to their skills, but they hardly played as a team motivated to push beyond what they "should" have been capable of.
You can be the best that "you" can be--but that's a lonely state of affairs.
You can also be the best that you can be while considering the others around you, and that's what makes a great TEAM--realizing yourself and the potential of the others around you.

Ya'll know what I'm sayin?
