All week I've posted about how bad this game was going to be. I want to apologize to everyone for the things I wrote, especially to Jonathan Crompton. I am very proud of the Vols... wish they had won, next game like this, they win.

Fan base must be as loyal to our success as the athletic department to the performance on the field. Don't beat yourself up, you're a passionate fan. Passion has crazy ways of expressing itself. The defense proved to us today, they will keep us in games this year and give us a helluva chance in every game we play. We will have a good chance with our "at home" schedule coming up.

way to man up....didn't see your predictions. For those who didn't publicly doubt (but did in their hearts), let me just say that I've never been prouder to be a TENNESSEE VOLUNTEER!!!!!! We played with heart, we played with smarts, and you could see the respect for Tennessee on the faces of the Florida players. 7-5 is about bottoms for this team this year....we're learning and we will give some team hell in our bowl game this year......GO VOLS!

Where are all the big talkers about a big blowout? Monte and the defense did the job. I see a bright future for the Vols if we can get a good QB. Regretfully, next year will be Stephens or a raw freshman and a retooled OL. But I am proud of the way the team played today.

Are you crazy? Crompton played like a piece of dog crap. If we had a decent QB we win this game. If you questioned the coaching staff, apologize, if you questioned the defense you should feel like a total choad, but JC?

JC IS AWFUL! He played so poorly today that the announcers commented on it constantly because unlike those on this message board praising Crompton they know that if you are running into 9 in the box it means that your QB SUCKS!~

I think everyone on here had doubts, me included, although i did pick us to win 17-16. I am so proud of the effort, havent seen this in years. With an above avg Qb we could of won this game, we outplayed them in most categories. very proud vol here, apology accepted... I now feel like we can run the table

I don't think that Jon Crompton deserves all that many apologies. He was heavily managed today. He didn't lose the game today, but those thanks go to the coaches. Unfortunately, he couldn't win it either, and that was on him and the fact that he handcuffed his coaches.

Great game by the Vols considering their weaknesses. I wish that JC wasn't snake bit, but he is.

Exactly. Because of Crompton the Vols had to run, with no passing threat. The guy throws into double and triple coverage.

I'll be the first to admit Tennessee lost this game by about 40 points fewer than I expected.

I agree with this, but this team, including Crompton, played the best they could today. This games makes me optimistic for when we have an actual balanced offense without a liability of a passing game. We should beat some teams playing like that.

The team played very well today and I think earned a lot of respect, both defensively as well as offensively... especially the OL. Should have looked good to any recruits still considering the vols. Stop the Crompton BS and try to enjoy the rest of the season... there's a lot to look forward to.
