Who really has the Pressure in The Swamp????

I can't believe I just read that. Um, you telling me that CNN, MSNBC, all of the national news services and NPR are anything other than lap dogs for the Obama administration. Heck, Charles Gibson said yesterday that he "hadn't heard anything" about the ACORN prostitutegate. What a joke. You think Bob Beckel is feaux? It amazes me that a network that in almost every commentary program has representation of both sides can be willcalled that. The problem is anyone left of center seems to want everyone that is not 100% lockstep with them discredited and completely muted. Both sides being heard reveals the inconsistancy and error of one side or the other and that will be one side of evry argument. "Big Tent" my arse!!! <merge to political forum> LOL

Give it up dude, some people are willfully ignorant. Just be happy that you know the difference.

How can all the pressure be on Tenn, when everyone including my dead grandmother is predicting a florida blowout.... It may happen... I don't know? ....that is why they play the game, but all Tenn has to do is show up and have fun and keep it close and Florida looks like the loser. By the way.. what about all the predictions coming out of Florida locker room? :eek:lol:
Gosh, I hope the Crompton performance did'nt kill her. It almost did me in

I hope you weren't referring to me as ignorant. Just because I don't drink what FOX is serving doesn't mean I'm some kind of Lib. Anyone digesting ANY national or cable news is a sheep. There are plenty of resources available to help Americans sift out the truth.

Now... back to football.

The quote is interpreted differently in Tennessee than it is outside of Tennessee.

By (like I said):
A. Florida drama queens who, rather like their AD, look for every reason to whine about something or
B. People who have never read the entire quote.

The End.

Yes, b/c the sports media has to build something out of nothing. Why else would they not include the last sentence in the quote everytime they play it on TV? Ya wanna know why Skippy? If they did it would totally take away any drama in the statement b/c most of America would figure out that the last sentence meant it was a joke.

Only the Gators are taking it the way you are. My Bama, UK and UGA friends all see it the same way I do.

It lightened the mood perhaps, but it didn't change the message.

LOL......why in the world the presser even bothers you guys is beyond me. We have been battered by Uf for the past 4 yrs. Why would you care about it at all? Sooner or later, not sayin' this year, but we will beat you guys. With our recruiting, it'll happen. Anyway, get over it. I appreciate some decent smack between rivals, but VN is being overran by gators with no boards of their own to visit. Wtf!!!!!
GO VOLS!

They're so mad @ Kiffin. Where's the outrage @ UF saying they're going undefeated and winning another title? The pressure is ALL on the gators. Every team they play is potential spoiler material.

Mike Slive didn't take the comments as a joke.
This post is proof positive you don't know s*** about anything, he was reprimanded for the Urban was cheating thing by calling a recruit while on his visit to UT, not the press conference. It's a shame that Lawgator is the most sensible of the gators on this site.

Oh yes! Those stations are JUST as bad. FOX doesn't have a monopoly on it. My intention wasn't to strike a nerve in you - you're clearly passionate about what you believe in the world. Let's stick to football here? We're all united when it comes to the Vols.
Ha, yea, I think the Charles Gibson thing has me edgy. As I've said in another thread (heck, most of ya'll have said it too), I think it was brilliant regardless of how it's interpreted. A five win team was able to jump straight to the headlines and into every recruits living room with a coaching staff that had a 4 week recruiting window without the spotlight being on the players. Hell, pissed or not, It'll be hard to hit Kiff's smug butt while he watches from the sideline. The weight shifted from players over to Lane's shoulders and he can take it. He knew CUM has thin skin and patronizing won't have any effect, but punching on an emotional powder keg/whiner just might. The part that hurts is that CUM won't be trying to hold his hand and sing CUMbaya like he surely would have if Kiff hadn't been so brash :eek:k:

FL really has little pressure. They will win in their minds and they will probably get an early lead and never look back. If we would have whipped UCLA things would be different. The Gators know how bad we really are now. Even if they overlook us they will still pull it out most likely. Our coaching staff had pressure not to suck horribly against FL. But after last week we all know they don't walk on water. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken Chit! So, this week has been about LK bragging about how good FL is. Bragging about them being the best D of all time and having the best QB of all time. Talking about watching them beat TN 10 years ago in the swamp back when he was pulling for FL along with his wife. His mouth wrote a check that his ass couldn't cash and he knows that now. He did rally the fans with his mouth. I guess a few months of hope is better than none at all.
Crompton has got pressure. He sucks and knows it deep inside. He knows the pressure on him. If he plays BAD enough over the next few games he will ride the bench. He must play just good enough to keep LK on his side.
So, our great QB Crompton has all the pressure. Oh yeah, the center might be a little worried too. I can't be mad at a walk on though.

Vols = chiken Chit. Wow. Vol fan, huh? So, you sound like you really like the gators though. Maybe you should switch.

Guess it's drilled in my head after hearing my own football coach say it about our old team.:) Never forget the only time he said that to me when I was a sophmore. Sure made me work harder the rest of practice.

I appreciate the current roster for trying their best and we do have a superstar on the D, but some of them will never be the quality we need to contend for titles. No coach can change that.

You have no clue. There is zero pressure on us. We're expected to be blown out by 100. Florida has said they will go undefeated and win a NC. It may rain Saturday (Tebow hates rain). There are no expectations from the fans. The sum total of the amount of pressure on UT is exactly, ZERO.

It's all on UF, and in a big way.

LOL! I'm about to die laughing here!

It's Lane Kiffin, with his bachelor's degree in leisure service management, and recent crap track record as a head coach, in a psychological duel with Urban Meyer with his degree in psychology and 2 National Championships. Next up, Urban will challenge Lane to a duel to see who can keep food costs down at a major leisure resort! Oh! I can't wait!

The tale of the tape:

# 2001 Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year

# 2003 Sporting News National Coach of the Year

# 2003 and 2004 Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year

# 2004 Home Depot Coach of the Year Award

# 2004 George Munger Award for the Collegiate Coach of the Year

# 2004 Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year

# 2004 Pro Football Weekly National Coach of the Year

# 2004 Woody Hayes Trophy Award, and

# 2004 Victor Award.

# 2006 SEC Championship

# 2006 National Championship

# 2008 SEC Championship

# 2008 National Championship

Lane Kiffin:

# Impregnated Layla

# Flunked out of the NFL

# Ran his mouth and got reprimanded by the SEC

So you don't think there is any pressure on Jonathon Crompton? After the craptastic performace against UCLA at home, he has to go on the road in arguably the toughest environment in college football and face the top ranked, defending National Champs and one of the best ball hawking defenses in the country. Yeah, no pressure there at all.

Lane Kiffin after flapping his piehole in the offseason, has to enter this hostile environment and play a team that has owned Tennessee for 4 straights years. He must try to back up his bravado by facing the monumental task of getting a putrid offense to move the ball against one of the top 5 defenses in college football while facing the best offense QB'ed by the best QB in college football. Nope- No pressure there at all.

Florida is playing at home where they have the best home record in college football over the past 20 seasons. They are loaded with returning starters from a National Championship team and they are loaded with confidence. They are a seasoned, focused bunch who will not be feeling any pressure whatsoever against Tennessee.

Ultimately, this could end up being the best D that I can remember across the board. The depth I was concerned about has dissapated also. These guys carry big sticks and they will get monumentally better each game....yes, even the Fl game
