The Swamp Horror Stories Thread

Strangely enough, Kentucky fans were extremely loud and out of control back in '07. They'd just beaten LSU the week before, and GameDay was in Lexington for the first time. A couple of younger fans tried to tear down our tailgate tent while we were watching the Bama-UT game. Fisticuffs nearly ensued before a cop showed up and cooler heads prevailed.

Even after the game the UK fans were vocal. We quickly reminded them our winning streak against them was old enough to legally drink.

Good times.

I've been to 10 of the 12 SEC stadiums, and several other away games (such as Notre Dame, UCLA, Cal) and lots of bowl games. I know the Gators on this board don't want to hear this, but your fans are far and away the worst. I can't even think of a close second.

Sure, as a fan of the visiting team, you are always going to run into a drunk loudmouth or two, but the Gators take it to a whole new level. Large groups of them seem to take pride in seeing how obnoxious they can be. And what really showed me they have no class whatsoever was when I saw several of them go out of their way to cuss an older couple of UT fans in their 70s who were doing nothing but trying to get back to their car after the game. It was a sad display.

Where in the hell did that come from? This is a thread where we are talking about our experiences at The Swamp. Mine was a good one. The fans were nice, and they treated me with a lot of respect. That trip is why I go out of my way to be so friendly to visiting fans at Neyland. Sorry for that, but don't you ever call me a Florida fan. I'm tempted to find you and turn off your fantasy video game and strangle you with the Xbox cord.

Read the comment, I didnt call you a Florida fan but you make it sound like you were at Woodstock all holding hands and hugging and kissing - get real. The fact that your attempting to be tough over the internet is sad in it's own right. Your experience with Florida fans in the Swamp was not pure Nirvana - unless that's what the mushrooms were telling you - the fact is I had a very good experience there as well but it wasn't "Hands Across America"

walking back from the game, some Dbag threw his beer on my girl and nearly got his @$$ whooped :)

I guess I should stay away from the Swamp to prevent a literal death.. Last year in Knoxville a gator fan went out of his way to say something about my girlfriend's Peyton jersey and I was in his face. Lets just say I used a couple of f words.. One pointing out his obvious love for the same sex. He then quickly walked away. I don't want to imagine what would happen to someone who threw beer on my girl. I know everyone has 'em, but thats pretty low.

You really lack complete information here.

I grew up in Jax and I haven't missed a FL/GA game since 1982. Freshman in '86, graduated in '90. Gator from the start and from the heart.

But please, continue to make baseless assumptions based on my recent discovery of this message board.

Keep making crap up. We can see bandwagoners before they even get here. You haven't fooled anyone. :eek:k: Although, I seem to have hit a nerve.

Something to be real proud of there Kanye... Uhh, I mean jackass.

Actually, I've heard so many so-and-so's fans are the worst ever, that I simply embrace the fallacy when it comes to the Gators.

A few years back, I watched a Vol fan in the Swamp puking and falling down the stairs at the same time. I didn't think that such a thing was possible, but it is. Many Gators rushed to her aid. Nobody laughed except her (supposed) husband/boyfriend. Who was the bad fan?

I'll let you decide.
