Kiffin talk of the Gators locker room

He isn't being a homer when everything he says is the truth. :shades:

Tennessee actually outgained your Gators in offensive yards last season, 258-243. Tennessee's 3 turnovers in their own territory was their demise. Any way you cut it, the Vols defense outplayed the Gators and shut down Tebags. Even with average QB play Tennessee makes that game interesting last year, possibly winning it.

So no, everything he says isn't the truth. He is a homer of the first order and you seem to be his little minion.

The main thing you should do with that link is find Florida and then tell us whether Tennessee is up or down from that position.

I already explained why I felt that there is no problem with the relative recruiting rankings of the teams, and how I don't really care if a team recruits a couple more 5 and 4 star recruits, because it's how one uses them that counts when it comes to the powerhouses of the SEC.

So far, many presumptions are being made about UT's future, based on little more than wishful thinking.

That doesn't mean that UT's dreams won't come true, but for people to quake in their shoes based on a couple of 4 and 5 star kids, and an unproven head coach (that's being generous, with a huge blind spot towards the HBC's recent history), would be quite illogical.

I'd prefer to enjoy today, and let you people enjoy your dreams of the future, because I've seen many coaches come in a blaze of adoration and glory, and leave with scorch marks on their backsides.

That's because our special teams returned a punt for TD, and the opening kickoff return gave us a short field.

Bad comparison.

You definately should savior the moment that is today.

The panic you've had all off-season about a 5-7 team is quite revealing of who considers it wishful thinking.

Fear the Vols. Even in your finest hour, you did just what you've learned to do.

Lessons resume 2012.

You'll be worse next year, but still not bad enough for us to take that one.

The storyline turns in 2012. Get ready. Things are returning to normal after a 20 year detour in college football.

Your definition of worse is relative considering our starting QB next year would easily start for you this year.

Due to graduation and underclassmen declaring (Dunlap, Hernandez, possibly Haden and the Pounceys) UF won't be a pre-season Top 5 team, but they should be the favorites to win the East again.

And as long as Meyer stays in Gainesville, don't expect UF to fall off the map anytime soon. Our down seasons lately have ended with Outback Bowls, not losing records...and that was with Zook.

I expect UF and Bama to take turns winning SEC titles over the next 3-5 years.

This still does nothing to change the fact that our defense shut down the Gators offense. And by all accounts so far, we are even better on that side of the ball this year.

You guys won on special teams play and horrible offensive play by us. And if I had to guess, that will be how you guys win again. Your offense will be good for maybe 1-2 sustained drives on offense that result in points...everything else will be a product of advantageous field position through special teams and turnovers.

After a 7 game losing streak, you'll definitely be due.

Sustained drives aren't necessary when your special teams can ring up points by themselves. UF's defense is much better than last year too, and they'll be matched up with a UT offense that MAY be slightly better than last year.

So what I'm hearing you say is, UF wins on Saturday but they won't cover the spread. That's fair.

Barring a total UT offensive meltdown I don't expect us to score 59 again, but I expect to win going away.

Yeah yeah. Talk is cheap.

P.S. Check out UCLA vs. UT's recruiting rankings over the last few years. It seems that UCLA did more last weekend with far, far, less.

Oh, but you're a recruiting powerhouse, yes sir, and you're going to shake up the world!!! :clapping:

1) I'll be honest and admit that I didn't watch either of your contests with CS and Troy, but if you said their starting QB would start for us this year, I wouldn't bother looking them up to argue.

2) I agree. UF will be favored to win the east in 2011, again. Just not the powerhouse you are this year. You're clearly the best team in CFB. Next year, still probably top 10, but you get the trend.

3) ND is already struggling. Moreover, CUM's failure to discipline players will catch up with him even if he doesn't take the ND leap. I think he will. What he does best as a HFC is a 3-5 year burst.

4) Bama will dominate you in 2011. Saban is the best coach in the SEC and that will show by then. After that, it's back to UT versus Bama for the League title.

but you said recruiting isnt important because yall are stacked anyways

This is what I have said since all the controversy started. Anybody expecting offensive fireworks and 60 points from the Gators is going to be disappointed. This game may (or rather, will) be another 30-3 type win for Florida, but it will be a closer game than that score indicates.

1. I said UF's starting QB next year (Brantley) would start for UT this year.

2. We are in agreement.

3. You mean you hope HOPE Meyer makes the leap to ND. If it happens it happens. We were competitive against you guys when Zook was our coach, and it's not like UT capitalized at all on Spurrier leaving for the NFL. That said, if Meyer leaves for ND, chances are it will be a little later when his youngest kid is older.

4. Bama hasn't dominated our conference in the past 20 years, and last I checked in the history of the SEC title game Bama and Tennessee have never played each other. If you want to harken back to when there were no scholarship limitations and little oversight for recruiting violations, then have at it.

And I'll take that score all day long.

Some bloodthirsty UF fans won't, but I certainly will.

I'm going to be drinking completely on emotion, and I believe if we win, I will probably be more intoxicated than if we lose. Which in turn, will probably cause me to do things and say things that I will not be proud of (or I may be proud of). Just saying I'm sorry ahead of time.

This reminds me of a quote in the movie Made, Vince Vaughn talking to a waitress at a night club:

"Here's $50 bucks now in case I get drunk and call you a ***** later!"

Let them dream.

Oh no! Meyer is leaving for ND! I just feel it in my bones! I think that I'll spend this year worrying about an unlikely future instead of seizing the day! :cray:

I wonder if they will take down the plaque of "The Speech" and replace it with a plaque of his "New Speech" after we beat them? Just a little sumthin', sumthin' to make you say, hmmmm...

I live in SW Florida, not by choice, If we do pull this one off.....you will never hear from me again, I'll be SHOT and thrown in the everglades to become food for the alligator and the gar (and now Anacondas)

If we win this my friend, you're gonna have a half a million drunk hillbillies invade florida, slap every gator fan within 20 miles of you, get hungry, eat all the snakes and gar, and ride those d@man alligators all the way back to Tennessee.

That sounds like the action plan of a fan base not used to beating Florida.....or a group of drunk LSU fans following a 35-point win over Tulane.

Seeing as how all those predictions about Meyer's spread not working in the SEC, and Tebow being nothing more than a glorified fullback, you have to pin your hopes and dreams on something.

If you can't beat him, just pray he leaves. :eek:lol:
