My perspective going into Fla week ...

CLK used the Western Ky game to get the freshman playmakers some real game time experience, knowing full well we should win that game going away.

I really believe he felt Jones and Moore were healthy enough to get the job done against UCLA, obviously they weren't. I think CLK's goal was to show as little as humanly possible against the Bruins and still win. Obviously none of us, the coaches or the players themselves are happy with our play Saturday. I think everyone realizes the play calling inside the five yard line late in the game left someting to be desired as well.

I predict we will see the Freshman playmakers out in force in the swamp, along with a healthy Jones and Moore (who have had a full week of practice). CLK is a smart guy, he knows the ability to compete with the overwhelming number 1 team in the nation is far more important (recruiting) than the UCLA game, especially since it is against a conference and divisional rival. I would be very surprised if we were to win Sat. like most everyone else but I will not be surprised to see us compete. I believe we will come out focused, prepared, and fired up. I expect us to throw everything in the book at FLA and leave everything on the field.

Win or lose I will be proud to be a VOL as long as we compete every play, never quit, and play as one. Our time is coming and our opposition know it. Support all our current players as we build for the future Vol fans! GO VOLS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :clapping:

very good sense of logic. I was thinking along the lines of this myself.

It makes sense why Jones was out there now i guess. We'll be ready for the Gators if we can man up and put UCLA behind us!! :clapping:

Agreed. We have numerous quality athletes who can, and have made, a difference. As a devil's advocate however, the area of biggest concern is still QB, and likely nothing will change from 1 week to the next. How could it if nothing changed from season to season? I'm a Vols fan through and through, but realistically we need a change at QB, or a huge step-up in performance.

Realistically, this is one hell of a tough way for our frosh players to get their SEC opener under them.

BTW, your new avatar looks like she has a unibrow, lawgator.

So you showed it all against WKU, but held back against UCLA?

Wow.
No, what happened was UCLA is alot better of an opponent. Kiffin thought he would keep the majority of the playbook hidden AGAIN against UCLA and it came back and bit him in the rear. They came to play and it backfired.

I agree..I think that UCLA is better than advertised...sure we are a contender yet....crompton is only as good as his offensive line play....lets relax and try to stay within 30:crazy:

Wow.

Not all of us are delusional. UCLA defenders said they knew Crompton was "not a very good passer" and he "stared down his receivers". One of the recruits that committed this weekend said he liked UT, "they are just a QB away..." We don't stand a chance with him under center and the fact he's even out there speaks volumes about his backup. Line play hasn't helped. Give us a few years, by then Meyer will be at Notre Dame!

i think tennessee will show up, be focused, and play extremely hard.

and they will get destroyed.

Who said anything about showing it all? I simply said the frosh played against WK (a vastly inferior opponent) to get real game experience. Why bother replying if you're incapable of reading ?

we will also be the first team florida has played this year with decent talent

what talent?

you want realism and honesty.

this is florida's third preseason game.

they are just actually excited and will be pumped up to play this one.

Awesome post.

How far is one from suicide when visiting an opponents board to show off his misplaced pride in a football team upon which he has no personal impact or interaction?

it was either this or that special hotline they set up for people close to the edge.

i chose this. it was more fun.

how is it fun to look that sad? I don't know what has you ao depressed, but a friend or two might help. I know it's tough when you're special, but there are people out there who will accept you for who you are. They probably share your short school bus experiences too. Built in discussion topics are nice ice breakers. Good luck.

Crompton can't play worse than he did Saturday. I honestly believe he will do better against Florida. I have a feeling we will be competitive. Sigh... but we lose again. I like what CLK is doing with the program, I just hate going through the growing pains.
