Hahaha I laughed, the shame you must endure frequently. You know they get on tiktok immediately and vent about having to deal with boomers and their ancient credit cards.

On a serious note, you really think butch was coaching special teams? I'd think his STC would be the one to bring back.

Being a boomer certainly doesn't help. Similar vein when the server offers to take your credit card even when there is a pay terminal on the table. Yes, I'm old. Yes, I can drive your stupid terminal. I can scan a QR code too. Dang kids!

I’m sure there is a woman who could be a dang good ump. But earn it and be one of the best in the minors first. She was ranked like the bottom 30 percent in the minors.

If congress was going to do something worthwhile related to college athletics, they better ban any business or entity outside of the USA. It is a matter of time before some desperate team gets money from a communist or middle eastern country and then has more money than anyone. I could see a team like Nebraska jumping at that and becoming unbeatable.

Of course, recent discussions in the senate involve a cap of 50 million through all sports with 5 million allocated to women's sports (full disclosure of deals), where any side-stepping could result in not only dissolving of the athletic program, but also huge monetary penalty to the university itself. This would not include NIL sponsorships where an exceptional athlete can make more provided it is transparent. The cap increases 4% a year and would be reevaluated in 9 years.

There is nothing funny about this. I pray for Tony and all others that have the grip of the devil around their throat. That lie the bottle or substance tells you. The short-term peace of helping you erase the day/stress and fall asleep only to have the nightmare rush back with a fever at 2am. The lost jobs. The lost friends. The loss of self-esteem and self-control. The numbing of proper emotion and waves of unchecked sadness, fear, and anger.

I've been there. It was a great coping mechanism. Until it wasn't. I am grateful to God that he gave me the strength to quit before I suffered all of those losses. Now my goals are clear, and I am keeping life simple now. I have a new relationship with myself. An addict will not quit until the pain of the addiction is greater than the pain of the recovery. I read that recently.

Pay attention to those you love the most. Like me, many didn't know I had a problem. Only 2 people did. My Lord and myself. An addict will lie and hide their addiction from everyone. The truth set me free. Now I am the husband, father, boss, and servant I want to be.

Pray for Tony and all like him.

Reflection

Dew arrives quietly. It does not come with thunder or dramatic displays, yet it provides the moisture plants need to live and grow. God sometimes works in our lives the same way. His presence may not always feel overwhelming, but His grace is continually sustaining us.

In these verses, God describes what happens when His people return to Him. They blossom like a lily, develop deep roots, spread their branches, and become strong and fruitful. God does not merely want us to appear healthy on the surface. He wants us firmly rooted in Him so we can withstand hardship and continue growing.

We often desire the blossom without developing the roots. We want visible progress, answered prayers, and immediate results. But God frequently works beneath the surface first. He strengthens our faith, corrects our priorities, and teaches us to depend on Him. What seems like a quiet or unproductive season may actually be a season of deep spiritual growth.

Remain close to God today. His grace is still falling like dew. He is nourishing what feels dry, strengthening what feels weak, and preparing new growth that will become visible in His perfect time.

Prayer

Father, thank You for sustaining me with Your grace each day. Help me remain rooted in You, especially during seasons when I cannot see immediate growth. Refresh the dry places in my heart and strengthen my faith beneath the surface. May my life blossom, bear fruit, and reflect the beauty of Your presence. In Jesus’ name, amen.

I had no idea that he had taken the ST coach job at USC . I heard Lincoln Riley talk about what a big hire it was for them. I thought he wanted to be home in Nebraska? LA isn’t exactly Lincoln. We’ve done nothing on ST since he left, with the exception of the bowl kick return. Don’t know why he really needed to leave .
