I don't think anybody will be able to top USC this year...They are flat out loading up.

If we get Powell, Owamagbe Odighizuwa, and Shariff Floyd I think we'll top them. Especially if we manage to pull Luc and or Joyner away from FSU.

We still have room for 8 to 10 more recruits this year. Three or four will be OL, maybe another QB. We would love to get Jeff Luc among others. Still hope to find an extra scholly for kicker Corey Acosta from CBHS in Memphis. We have a commit from top kicker, Palardy, but Acosta is great, too. We could redshirt one of them.

I want a notch in the gun butt for UCLA this weekend.

GO VOLS!!

No way the staff will use a scholarship on another kicker. Even with the redshirt, he only sees the field for one season unless Palardy goes pro early.

If we were to get two of those three (plus the others I expect) we will probably be a top three class. It ain't over with this staff until (AFTER) signing day. They never quit.

Geez, do u think UF can sway Jesus to come to the swamp as well?:)

Here lies the issue with speaking when you know little to nothing about the discussion at hand.

UF is battling USC for Powell, he's coming to Gainesville for the Vol Game, there's a major chance we land him.

Owamagbe Odighizuwa is really high on us, and at this point it's us and Cal. He's coming to Gainesville twice. Once for the Vol game, and once for the FSU game.

After PSU started fading in his mind, Shariff Floyd's favorites became UF and South Carolina. He, like the above two, likes us a lot.

We been in it for Luc for forever. We're second right now, and it'll be tough to pull him away from FSU, but there's still a chance. Especially if FSU sucks this season.

We're second for Joyner behind FSU. I think he's FSU bound, but we've been making up ground.

In the end I think we end up with four or five 5* recruits on rivals, and five or six on ESPN.(ESPN has some of our recruits rated very high.)

He was making a joke, as denoted by the smiley at the end of his post. This first sentence was totally uncalled for.

I know you wonder why people are bashing you in virtually every thread you post in, but your condescension is virtually unmatched by any other rival fan who has been on this site. Might be a small reason why.

You are a pretty knowledgeable poster, and you do actually bring something of substance to the board. But IMO your attitude leaves a lot to be desired, especially considering the fact that you are on an opposing teams board - all the more reason to be just that much more polite.

Tom Brady.

Kurt Warner.

Marques Colston.

Cortland Finnegan.

Off the top of my head and only took like 5 seconds to think of them. So, I respectfully disagree.

32 teams x 53-man roster = 1,696 players you named 4 players and i said brooks was put into the right scheme with Monte..like brady like warner like tebow is ect.if tebow went to bama and didnt run the spread would he be tebow? its hard work to make it in the NFL i give credit to the indivual for the work he puts in! sometimes great players are not put into the right scheme but anyway. nobody makes anybody they make themselves with hard work! did Tom Moore make Peyton? monte did not make Derrick Brooks it took him and alot of people not just Monte.anyway this is a Luc post i hate to get off topic my bad!

Matt Cassell
Jerry Rice
Willie Parker
James Harrison
Kyle Van Den Bosch

Im with Pearl on this one. Stupid comment tbh.

all these players have talent and worked hard they made themsleves.look at all these recruiting rankings and people dont turn out to live up to the 5 stars ect.the individual that wokrs hard like James Harrison and didnt give up made himself no coach made him if ya get what i mean.there is a differance between a grown man making a living at football and a college kid playing football.Monte woked at a few places before he went to Tampa so who made Monte?once again did Tom Moore make Peyton? did Phil jackson make Jordan? I respect ya opinion dont get me wrong just had to reply.i give credit to the individual for the hard work they put in loook at Jerry rice like you said he worked harder than anyone but ya saying his coaches made him.anyway this is a Luc post i hope we land him!

did Phil jackson make Jordan?

Yes. He put Pippen next to him and set up a great offensive scheme from an X's and O's standpoint that denied defenses the ability to key on Jordan and shut him down. He did pretty good work at LA for Kobe but has had a harder time getting great guys around him.

As to the question, look you are correct that great players will be great no matter what, but the reason Brooks was chosen and not Sapp is that some coaches really make the reputation of a guy by putting him in the right scheme.

I could be the coach of Eric Berry and just say run out and make plays and he would look good in a lot of college games. That does not mean I am a good coach. Berry has had good coaching including from his dad along the way.

Monte Kiffin's scheme will make a talented MLB very famous. That is a reason we could end up with Luc.

While he isn't a traditional tampa-2 MLB, he is such a freakish talent that Monte can alter his defense a little bit for him. And I wouldn't call him slow.

I saw in an interview that he says he likes to prove people wrong. Well, here's your chance Luc...I personally just don't think you have the speed it takes to play linebacker at Tennessee....FSU maybe but not UT.

I guess Larry Slade and Chavis made eric berry since they was his coach!

Go back and read what you originally said.

Also, it's "Since they were his coach". I wouldn't normally correct someone on spelling and grammar but I thought you might copy and paste it again.

I agree with alot of what you said but I think we are going to finish second for a lot of these guys. Tosh is too good of a recruiter so I think Cal ends up with Owa. Floyd's a tough one to call especially with USCw entering the mix now. Some even say they are battling USCe for him as a two team race. I think Joyner is playing us honestly I don't think he is that high on us and I believe OSU is in 2nd. Powell is the one we must have and if USC gets Jackson Jeffcoat then that might make it easier to get the other elite DE in Powell. We all know the history with Luc and FSU, we can only hope the kid wants to win more than playing early.
