Just wait till Monte talks to him and tells him how he wants to use Luc the exact way he used Brooks in his defense.

Just curious but how could he use him the same as Brooks? Luc is going to play inside linebacker and Brooks played outside linebacker.

Monte could and would still make him into an awesome linebacker. Players like Quarles and Rudd were over achievers under him. Was just pointing out that they play different positions. Not saying he couldn't make Luc better than any other coaching staff. Just thought I'd clarify.

I didn't say Kiffen couldn't, Kiffen may very well be the best defensive cordinator in College Football, however I don't think Luc lands at UT or UF so we'll never know how good he could have been for either of our teams.

Maybe not but I am not ruling out any major program at this point. FSU, Florida, Miami, Alabama, Tennessee.... Staying in state is the safe bet but you never know with 18 year olds. After watching Virginia and Duke go down to FCS teams. North Carolina State scoring three against a team that will probably finish last in the SEC East. FSU and Miami not playing defense at all. It's up in the air. Florida wins the SEC or Tennessee hits the 9 or 10 win mark -- I think losses to Florida and Alabama is realistic. Maybe a loss to someone else with an upset over one of them -- who knows? 10 wins in the staffs first season would go a long way for Tennessee. Or Alabama, do they run a 3-4? There are many reasons he could choose a school outside of Florida. I really don't know where he'll end up. We shall see. If FSU and Miami are mediocre this season which looks possible, who knows where Luc lands.

I understand what you're saying, but his mother is so adamant about him staying close to home that it's tough for me to see him leaving the state. It could happen, and he may land at UT, but at this point the signs are pointing elsewhere.

Miami is on the outside looking in anyway, and I'm hoping FSU is really bad. I think if FSU is terrible this season that we can land Luc. I personally hope they both suck. It'll make recruiting that much easier.

Sinking feeling... you mentioned everyone but Alabama. If he were to leave Florida, I would put Tennessee ahead of Bama because of Monte. But, I think Alabama could be the dark horse. Nick Saban's ability to recruit and a 3-4 defense which sets up linebackers for sacks. :pukeb:

Also... Bama did pull of landing richardson.

Because if I mention Bama I have to mention UGA and LSU as well. I don't know how much interest in the above 3 he has, I just know who his current favorites are. It could and may very well change, but that's all I know at the moment.

MLB aren't usually the ones who get the sacks in a 3-4. Look Patrick Willis.

Bama just flat out fit better for Richardson. He fits their mold.

Def and Pearl, can you comment on the depth charts for UT and UF on my new thread? I think that TN can promise more playing time sooner and would be interested in your thoughts.

Some info coming out of Treasure Coast about the Vols. From people who work in the school...

There was actually a Gator fan who talked to Luc at FNL and came to a UT board. He said Luc was raving about Monte Kiffin and the Vols...

There are other things like this that have been going on for a while behind the scenes. Nobody knows what this kid is doing. Up until 3 weeks ago, everyone said he was a silent to the Gators. We all know that isn't true...
Vader, I was the one who spoke with Luc at the Gridiron tournament, not FNL. He did comment on how he liked TN's D scheme - he wasn't raving about it. He mentioned nothing about Monte Kiffin. IMHO, it will be an SEC school - UF, LSU, or TN. He said he wanted to play in the best D conference in America - the SEC. Georgia is out of it for him, Bama is out. He mentioned how UF has "everybody", why do they want me? Then I proceeded to explain how he could play alongside Jelani Jenkins and John Bostic. He said "Coach Meyer told me the exact same thing. That would be awesome." He loves Charlie Strong. However, he does like TN's D scheme. I do not believe he is a silent at all. I do believe (it could be the homer in me) that he will end up at UF. It will come down to UF and UT, IMO. LSU is in the mix right now and that could change according to how the season goes and his visits go. Everyone is selling Strong will leave and the other schools, whomever it might be, have immediate playing time right now and UF does not. UF knows the criticizing that is going on and are combating it nicely. However, it will be fun to see how this one plays out.

I wasn't talking about you. But your info does make me more confident and adds more fire to the UT argument. I was talking about FNL. The guy is from Scout...

Luc was in the stands last night at the FSU according to Gator Country. As everyone knows, he is a heavy FSU lean even maybe a silent. His brother goes there and he grew up an FSU fan so this is no big surprise. He has talked quite a bit about UT though and Monte Kiffin and how he respects him. The kid knows a lot about him since he grew up in Florida and Kiffin is a legend here. Still, I think mama is going to win out and it's between UF and FSU. I think he will go FSU because he really wants to go to the league and that seems to be a big concern of his. He also seems to want to play right away which most likely will not happen at Florida. He appears to be trying to be an early enrollee so we should know sooner rather than later.

Hmmmm

Wants to play early and go to the NFL. UT should be tops on his list!

Yeah, I mentioned that he was at the game yesterday. I created a thread listing all the prospects that were at the game.

He isn't a silent to FSU, they are a heavy lean though.

He'd be able to play at UF, and I don't seem to understand why everybody thinks otherwise. Both of our MLBackers will be leaving after the season leaving a wide open spot for him to fill.

I do agree he goes to FSU though.

If you're going to get a few hundred posts on this site, spelling Kiffin's name with two "i"s is a must. The "e" version is the hallmark of trolls.
