I say just put Faizon in then. Him and Keys are two highly rated recruits that headlined our class, and if Faizon leaves and Keys doesn’t get a whole lot of playing time, then I’m sure Keys will be out the door cause they are tight. Might not be the same way if Keys redshirts and Faizon is starting since he’ll know he’s getting more PT in year twoMore than a good chance both get plenty of game time. Also pretty much foregone conclusion that one of them hits the portal, so better get the right one in place.
I want the best player to start, if Mac starts it will be because he started making plays. Faizon is a 5 star talent. He is big and has a ton of natural ability. Not hating on Mac just saying he better get in gear, the job isn’t waiting on anybody. If he can’t seperate now it’s likely to only get harder. I’m all about the best player playing period. The one good thing is we don’t have time to coddle quarterbacks. 2 young ones that were both highly talented prospects. It’s time to take live fire and see who handles it best and can move the ball the best. GBOGMAC will be our starter and his haters will complain he threw an incomplete pass, didn't run fast enough, or just breathed wrong
Perhaps not. Maybe they should have a site that fans in the stadium 1 hour prior to kickoff can access, and it all can come down to starting whom the fans choose. And if he screws up? They have themselves to blame.I don’t envy coaches having to make that decision, because ultimately you have to play who looks the best in practice. But as we’ve shown on a few occasions, and that’s not specific to us, practice is not necessarily the best indicator.
You will see that on VN as we saw it last year after we were out of the playoffs. "Go ahead and play G-Mac since Joey A is gone because this year is over already."Roll with Brandon. Get the learning curve out of the way, set us up for a run at an SEC title or a national title on ‘27 or ‘28
If GMac and Faizon are tied, then you play the guy with the upside. Either guy could hit the portal, can't worry about that but if the team has a good year under Faizon and he looks good. I don't think he'd leave, the goal for a QB is get to the NFL and top 10 draft which is going to be more than NIL packages, sticking with a team you've had success with helps those chancesYou will see that on VN as we saw it last year after we were out of the playoffs. "Go ahead and play G-Mac since Joey A is gone because this year is over already."
Once/if we're out of the playoffs running, people will be saying they "don't care how many we lose, just let Faizon get up to speed." That's not how any college coach feels nor behaves since they have incentive based contracts and are paid to win every game they can with the best players they have this year.
Preparing for next year when Faizon could hit the portal easily with a better offer...... is not smart.
Yeah I'd not put much weight in them or talking vawls but AP & Hubbs saying it's tied coming out of spring camp would have you leaning toward Faizon being QB1.People should just ignore the stuff Trey, AtoZ, and Basil-bruh are slinging against the wall for attention.
We are due a generational talent...Eric Berry was the most recent almost 20yrs agoI think GMac is/will become a very good qb. The fact that Brandon is making this a competition does not have to reflect negatively on GMac, and I don't think it should. Sometimes you find a generational talent that plays so well that not putting him on the field becomes extremely difficult. I believe this may be the case with Brandon.
