Faizon Brandon QB1

It's nice to have competition at the QB spot. Sets the tone for the year.

I don’t envy coaches having to make that decision, because ultimately you have to play who looks the best in practice. But as we’ve shown on a few occasions, and that’s not specific to us, practice is not necessarily the best indicator.

There are outliers, however, practice is without a doubt the best indicator.

IDK. I really believe Faizon would get a lot more leeway from fans. GMAC is going to have to play like Tom Brady from the 1st snap to satisfy the unrealistic portion of the fanbase
Yeah I think Brandon would also.
Fans are going to want to see results from GMac since he's been at TN a year. The backup is usually the most popular player on the team, probably even more so when the word is they're both tied.

It's kind of concerning that reports out of camp is that GMac and Faizon are tied and that GMac didn't separate himself more during camp.
I know some are saying they'll split time but IMO you don't want that. You want a known QB and there is chemistry and timing with the offense you have to think about.
If I was going to split time it would be the first game and the one that performs gets the starting job.

Unless one QB just blows up during fall practice, I'd start the season giving both George and Faizon as close to equal playing time as possible against Furman and GA Tech, just to see how they perform with a full stadium. I am leaning a bit toward Faizon being the ultimate winner at this point. However, whoever does win the job, it is likely that the other one jumps in the transfer portal. That's another reason I'm thinking Faizon is the man. I just can't see our staff risk losing him to the portal after his freshman season. I'd hate to lose George, too, but of the two, I'd hate to lose Faizon more.

If I was going to split duties, it would only be for one game. The guy that steps up, gets the job. I'd want the QB and offense to have 2 full games getting in sync for the Texas game because it won't get any easier going forward.
GMac would for sure leave at the end of the season if he's QB2.
But if GMac doesn't separate himself in the fall I'm rolling with Brandon. I think fans can live with a true freshman that is showing flashes vs playing a guy that let a true freshman hang with him and for all purposes would just be starting because of seniority
