Gerrymandering in Virginia

Because they are the same, we badly need a real leader as POTUS. That is ever increasingly difficult. The best people for the job no longer want the job because of the movement of each party toward the extreme.
I think that we actually need an awakening of the citizens before we even try to elect decent politicians. We need the people of this country to wake up to all the corruption of “both” parties. I still like to think that the people of this country will eventually wake up. And I trust them over a politician.

As we sit on this board firing shots at each other under the guise of the 2 party system, the politicians are smiling.

So you greatly dislike trump?
What is wrong with you? Why does it always have to be about Trump?

Do you not understand what I said earlier about both parties being the same? Until you open your eyes I can’t help you. It literally took you 1 post after mine to fall into the trap that I spoke of. Wake up

You claimed the two parties want to keep us divided. Nobody in the history of the office has been more intentionally divisive than trump. It was his whole game play from the beginning.

So if you truly think that the divisiveness between the two parties is a bad thing.....ipso facto.....

Its all part of TDS. When a team that Luther likes loses, he wonders of Trump caused it, any player leaving to the portal, Trump probably caused it. TDS is truly a mental illness

Lincoln was so divisive it caused a war. You really should learn some history.

Still don’t get it. It’s not 2 parties. It’s 1 party.

Both the Rs and the Ds are a uniparty. It’s a facade. Theater.

The problem is that some misguided souls believe the government was meant to save them and care for them from cradle to grave instead of its actual purpose

So then you greatly dislike trump?
Still doing this I see. I will make this difficult for you to understand but here goes.

I am in favor of some of policies of many politicians. I’m also against some policies of many politicians. Once you realize the majority in DC are playing a game of political theater it makes sense.

Enlightenment to this will take away your partisan hate. But it will offer you a healthy and somewhat jaded view of the circus.

Sadly we shouldn’t have to be concerned about that bunch all the way up there. The federal government was never supposed to be that influential in our lives. But here we are a society that doesn’t realize how much liberty that we have lost.

Cheers, and have a good day sir.

But I'm not dumb enough to claim (or believe) Carter lost 49 states......so I do have that.
What's even funnier was I MEANT to type 45 states and it was a typo and I was STILL wrong because I forgot Hawaii and didn't count DC as a state.... 😂

But the point still remains true

Wow. Of course there are times war is justified and necessary. Lincoln’s war was neither
Oddly enough many think the Civil War was both of those things and I agree.

You're certainly of the minority opinion on this one.

How exactly do you envision slavery (which was the primary catalyst) being eliminated without war?

Yes, Lincoln went to war to end slavery. So much so that when he issued his famous Emancipation Proclamation, he didn't abolish slavery in the border states that remained in the Union.

How many other countries did we invade to end slavery?

With continued industrialization. As machinery became more commonplace, and able to do the job without having to be fed and housed, large agricultural landowners would have shifted more and more to mechanized labor. Might have taken 20 more years, but slavery was doomed. Much like cashiers at Wal-Mart or Taco Bell. Mechanization is more efficient and cheaper.

Even Lincoln said slavery wasn’t the reason he started the war.

Public schools have done a phenomenal job of brainwashing multiple generations.
