Thanks, jave! I used a good bit of lemon. Maybe that would accomplish the same thing? I made a tiny batch: about an inch and a half in one of those little one-serving smoothie-makers. It won't be here long enough to go bad. But I'm thinking, after you said that, that a few drops of balsamic might be a good flavor addition. I suppose apple-cider vinegar is the standard in hot sauce.

Other than lemon and zest (I'm on a big lemon kick): a peeled small mandarin, a touch of tart cherry juice, and a few grapes. Olive oil will be added at time of serving to maximize its pungency. I'm basically just f---ing around.

Do you make hot sauce?
I think white vinegar is the standard, but no reason you couldn't play around with other types. Lemon isn't quite as acidic as distilled vinegar, and it's got a sweetness to it, but it'll add another flavor dimension for sure, especially if shelf life isn't an issue.

I do not, but my brother had a local artisan hot sauce brand for a while that he did pretty well on, so I've learned about it indirectly.

BaseVols are 7th in country in HRs with 105
5 Tennessee hitters have hit double-digit home runs this season. Henry Ford (16), Blaine Brown (13), Blake Grimmer (12), Levi Clark (11), and Reese Chapman (10).

Multiple other Vols could reach double-digit HRs this season, including Manny Marin (9), Garrett Wright (7), Trent Grindlinger (7), and Stone Lawless (6).

@Orangeredblooded, I'm making hot sauce from a green Scotch bonnet. (Singular, because one pepper does the trick in a small batch.) 🔥🌶️

My question: Hot sauce usually includes vinegar. Is that a taste choice or is the vinegar required as a preservative if going to be kept long? Or both? I think I'll use my very small batch quickly, so I'm not worried about a preservative. I just added some fruit like I did with the haberno about a year ago. I'm going to add a little olive oil to the food separately at the time I use sauce, so the oil better retains its pungency.
Both, sorry for the short answer. I’m at work. I’ll revisit this evening.

Anyone else want to punch Tim Brando after this drivel?

SEC constantly taking strays from him, but you definitely don't see the same energy hurled towards the BIG.

Yankees could care less about college sports. I've also rarely even found a BIG fan who cares more about their college football team than a professional one!

Pretty much every announcer is a Dianna Russini, when you get down to it. The B1G pays Tim Brando and he's going to blow them. That's why I'm enjoying the Russini story.

I do really appreciate Brando slapping Kiffin down. Not because he's a "brave truth teller ," but because he's in bed with the B1G.

The worse thing that the combo Kiffin + Sankey + networks pulled off was lying until people believed it that the mustard bottles were prompted by Kiffin a decade ago. Fans were outraged that the game was outright stolen from us with the supremely crooked nullification of Baron's TD plus absolutely horrendous outcome-changing spots. Add to that 18 fake injuries or whatever it was that Kiffin employed during the game. It seemed exactly as if we were not going be allowed to beat a potential 10-win team in our first year of probation.

I gotta admit, I am nervous about starting a true freshman QB..if so hope he grows up quick.
How awesome would it be if he was totally bad ass though? lol

Mac not knowing playbook as well as a freshman though..that wasnt on my bingo card,
Yeah...was reading that a second and third time. It sounded like he was saying bigger would be better, but the real holdup is that he doesn't know the playbook like he should. Did I hear that right?

If that’s the case then he doesn’t need to be the guy . He’s had plenty of time .

Is anyone really more biased covering sports than these two? I think not.

I just poured some of the hot sauce I randomly concocted on a turkey sandwich. It's good!

I really think GMac would be successful if he started this season but it may just be a case where we finally hit on one of these generational 5 star QBs and Faizon has come in and taken it rather than GMac just not being good enough. If he's not the guy, then I hope he's able to stay focused and be ready if needed.

True Freshman QBs can have success. I mean it's not too common but Hurts, Lawrence, Caleb Williams, Fromm, Sam Howell, Gabriel were all pretty lights out from the get go. Then you have Deshaun Watson, Kyler Murray, Tua all proved later in their seasons they were legit from the get go as well. Sagapolutele was awesome last year. Malik Washington was good as well as Bear kid at BYU.

I wouldn't cap us at 7 wins. Our system is very QB friendly. I'd be more concerned about Faizons supporting cast helping him than his ability.

Honestly...we've rolled out a first year starter the last 2 seasons. Talent > Time is my motto

If Faizon is the more talented QB he should be the starter, you can play call around not knowing all the plays a lot easier now than not being able to make all the plays.

QBs have helmets where the OC can tell them everything right until 15 seconds left on PC, and with how we run tempo Faizon could be given each play and the progressions before every play if need be.

We ran like 5% of the playbook with Joe. Made do with a ridiculous run game and 40 screens. We'll score points.

Also...different staff, but I remember the Dobbs era... they kept going with experience over talent.

Dobbs as a True FR had a higher completion % than Worley and offered far more with his legs. He threw 6 picks, but hell he was forced into back to back road games for his first 2 games at Bama and at Missouri then got Auburn and Vandy at home... the first 3 of those teams won 10+ games that year & Vandy won 9. So much time wasted on Worley/Peterman when Dobbs for Butch's system was the clear better QB.

Then as a True SO same damn story again, still waited to use Dobbs until Bama...I get frustrated because I think of how much better he could have been had he gotten to play Austin Peay, Western Kentucky, South Alabama before playing at Bama in Year 1... or had he gotten to play Utah State, Arkansas State, Chattanooga before having to play Bama.
