Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Why does Krenzel even pitch anymore? All he does is walk guys and give up bombs. Yeesh. Just quit pitching him in meaningful games. Tuesday games only and only when we have a decent lead.

Just to clarify. . . In my vision I witnessed this happening at a golf course near Newport, but left that out because I don't think you'll be playing out that way any time soon. . .
Ive played in Dandridge, Sevierville, Gatlinburg, Knoxville, and Nolichucky..........., but not in Newport. 🤟

Reese with a Senior Day to remember...
This game isn’t over. The guys seem to be battling no matter the score finally. Maybe we are maturing some. We can still come back in this game. 3+ innings left. We have the ability to score. Need pitching to not give up anymore runs though.

You ever played the world class course "Lost Creek"? We played there some, it was a good price and we weren't that serious. . .

. . . but nothing outshines Bays Mountain Golf Course in Seymour. It was a dump, compared to pretty much anywhere on the planet. It was only $20 w/cart for all you could play. They had a dive bar on the roof and a swimming pool next to it. Actually had some good times there. Hate that it closed down.

I'm not proud of this, but i used to play "money games" in a lot of small town "dog tracks"

Those dog tracks are so much fun to play.............never in great shape and designed by some local yeh-hoo, but some great memories and fun courses.

Miss that.

Bent Creek in Gatlinburg is in my Top 3 favorite courses I've ever played.

Not the best courses, but personal favorites.
I absolutely love it.

Its quirky. Its not "fair" in some places. But it's just so much fun. Risk reward everywhere.........65 or 85.

😂
Bays Mountain was pretty rough. You had to be careful walking or driving the fairways. You'd hit a big hidden hole and tear your leg off or break the cart into pieces.

I like it there. I always liked that elevated hole. I worked at a sister resort to Bent Creek, Mountain Loft, and got free golf there.

Reminds me, I worked with a woman who lived on the course there. We'd stop and have a mimosa with her every time we played. She was pretty rough, but was always hitting on us. About 30 years older than we were. I should've bit the bullet and put a ring on it 😂. She was making $700k+/yr selling timeshare back then, maybe a lot more than that.

She lived on #6? the par 5?
I honestly think I remember her    ......I've played there probably 50 odd times....

TV didn’t get to build his roster in MLB.

His personality works in any locker room.
Strong disagree.

TV is a players' coach and he's always going to be amicable with the players.

But stuff like this... It works against you in the MLB. You're 40 games into a 162 game season, in last place, and you're apologizing to the fans. Great. What's your headline grabber when you still suck in a week?

The stuff Tony is good at... It's a non-factor or works against you in the pros. He's not long for the MLB and will be back in college soon enough.

I grew up in West TN and then Middle....

We called the "games" in West TN "The Fried Chicken Circuit."

Those courses up north west of Jackson were like you described. Etched in my brain.... 🤟

I'm not sure how much golf we actually played. We'd be 70% drunk by the 9th hole. I'm shocked one of us didnt have a heatstroke playing like that.
