Happy Saturday
Today’s devotional:
Scripture — Psalm 27:13–14 (NIV)
“I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.”
Reflection:
Waiting can feel like lost momentum.
But David doesn’t describe waiting as weakness.
He connects waiting with strength.
“Be strong and take heart… and wait for the Lord.”
That’s interesting—because strength is often mistaken for action, speed, or visible progress. But in God’s kingdom, some of the strongest moments in a person’s life happen when they refuse to run ahead of His timing.
David’s confidence wasn’t in perfect circumstances.
It wasn’t in quick answers.
It wasn’t in seeing the full path.
His confidence was in the goodness of the Lord.
Sometimes faith looks less like moving faster… and more like standing steady until God makes the next step clear.
Waiting is not wasted when God is shaping something deeper than the immediate outcome.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that Your timing is never careless and Your delays are never empty. When I’m tempted to force movement, rush decisions, or measure progress only by what I can see, steady my heart. Teach me the kind of strength that waits with confidence. Help me trust Your goodness even before I understand Your direction. Let my faith be rooted not in fast answers, but in Your faithful character. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
