2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

Saw that too does anyone know what he is referring and what source he stole that from

I’m going to take a guess he’s alluding to BTO’s earlier post here about how we’re pursuing a few different options for that last big man spot.

The Tweet is so stupidly vague that he can claim whenever our last commit announces, “This is who I was talking about.”

11 SEC teams. 50% of the "best" teams are from 2 conferences?!? Wow.
We’re watching, and being entertained by, a microcosm of American society. It’s the same concentration of power and wealth by a handful of organizations who then use that power to control the competitive landscape.

These early projections are pure click bait and nothing more. With all the drastic roster changes and new faces who have never played together, there is absolutely no way to "rank" teams other than speculation based on the equally speculative portal rankings.

I mean, will Juke end up as the #8 ranked transfer, as he was in so many of these "expert" lists? Who the hell could possibly know how he, or the others, will mesh with a new team in a new system?

Like all off-season (and really most if not all non-game) media, it's just garbage that passes as content to get clicks and views.

I mean we finished tied for 4th this season in what is arguably a "down" year for Barnes. 12 total losses is the most since the COVID year when we had 14.

I think Florida, Arkansas and Bama will be up there again. Philon is going to be really hard to replace, but assuming Holloway is back and Samuels or Richardson are anywhere near as good as their ratings their style of play will keep them competitive every year Oats brings in high rated talent. 3 top 50 HS players, one of the best deep ball bigs from the portal in Fielder and then another sharpshooter in Cloer.

Vandy without Tanner will be bad I think...but if he stays out of the draft they will be in the mix, although likely a step back.

It’s all absurd. However, it does generate clicks, so it will continue. I’m waiting for the 2-year bracketology update coming soon.

I don't care about pre-season rankings. You wanna know why ? Because the Vols are going to be a juggernaut, next year. Another 25 win season that is reached in the regular season. In fact, Vols win 30+ and reach their first (and fulfill my childhood dream) Final 4 ! This will be the greatest year in, what will be known as The Golden Age of Tennessee Basketball ! Get your money down early

I don't think size is an issue for us at all. This is one of the biggest teams we've ever had, maybe not at the 5, but across the board we have long athletes.

Having said that, I'm very surprised we showed no interest in Franck Kepnang though. He's a strong 6'11 defensive guy who is a great lob threat. Literally exactly what we need. I know there is an injury history, but he's definitely worth the risk, imo.

Everybody knows that our guards are going to be pretty good, I think some of the biggest surprises of the season will be Rubin and Brown offensively. Been watching tape on Rubin, he thrives off lobs and cleans up well around the rim. People are comparing him to Felix and, while I loved watching Felix play, Rubin's hands are way better. Him + Brown making a sophomore leap and I think our 5s are going to be as solid in their roles as the rest of the team.
