I don't think Amari liked Knoxville, necessarily. I think he respected Barnes and probably liked his teammates. Knoxville and Pittsburgh are just different places, and he had made comments before leading me to this belief.

I may be missing something but Harlason looks like a 4 to me....no perimeter shooting skills at all so it you play him at the 3, you're limiting your offense. If we sign Juke, you have plenty of perimeter guys--Juke, Dai Dai, Lundblade, Hill, plus Henderson (if he's healthy) and a couple, maybe 3, of the Freshman. So, another big would be good for depth, I guess, but minutes would be hard to come by with Brown, Harlason, Rubin, Lue, maybe Washington, maybe Scott...

So he is moving to Texas? I understand if he didn't like Knoxville but Texas sucks and is even more different than Pittsburgh. Maybe you're right and he was just looking for a reason to leave but lets be real, that reason was money. I completely understand the money part and would move to Texas too for a massive raise, but if he didnt like TN, then he is gonna hate Texas.

Yes, and what if Hill gets hurt, and Henderson is still unavailable? Would the team survive it? Yes, we have plenty of guys who can handle the ball, but the whole dynamic would change. It would not likely be ideal. We need another guy who thinks and acts like a point guard more than we need a backup down low.

Yet we had an earlier post saying Amari took a pay cut at Texas? The endless claims of NIL$ without any real knowledge of it makes the whole portal process even more confusing to us fans.

Need both a point guard or combo guard and another center. Some of the media are insinuating they currently have 3 spots.

Austin Texas is a big city like Pittsburgh though...but I would agree if the "south" is the issue he didn't exactly go to a better city.

We do have 3 spots. One of the walk-ons is a DSA which won't count towards the 15...and the other could become a manager and open up the 3rd scholarship that way.

I'm just going to assume you've never been to Austin, TX. Very liberal, very progressive. Much like Pittsburgh, where he is from.

And I'm not even saying that those social differences were necessarily the reasons he didn't like Knoxville. Maybe he didn't like the University of Tennessee specifically, maybe the campus, the student body. I don't know the exact reasons. I just dont think it was money, and the sole fact that he transferred to UT-Austin isn't necessarily the proof you think it is that money was the lone determinant.

I'm not a fan of huge rosters, but yeah, if we are trying to cover all the bases, we have the available slots.

Not true. He actually excelled because most players were more athletic than him and he was still a two-time SEC POY his sophomore and junior seasons. He had superior intelligence and incredible vision that overcame any deficiencies in his game.

Regardless, his comments were misleading and disconcerting. Maybe he had no intention of leaving that narrative, but it is a very bad misconception and lack of good judgment on his part.

Yep no one knows. Wish him well. No guarantee that he carves out that many more minutes at Texas. They loaded up in the portal and what they need more than anything is perimeter shooting which isn’t currently a strength for Evans.

Inexperienced fans do not yet understand the service that Spring basketball panic provides. April-May is too early to panic about the football team. We've gotta have something to keep us teetering on emotional collapse until we get to July and can engage this year's impending demise of the football team.

Remember the BVS motto: "Pace yourself. Each sport deserves its own off-season to become an impending disaster."
