2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

No complaining here, I just think Tennessee needs to add another big incase someone gets hurt or in foul trouble.

As far as formidable goes, I would say every UC, UM, and UF front court player listed was good-to-elite. My definition of formidable is if a player has what it takes to get drafted. All of championship teams listed had great balance 1 thru 5 and depth.

I would agree. Scott isn’t likely a frontcourt player…Washington Jr. will be I think, but may not be an immediate option.

And Lue & Haralson are smaller 3/4 types. So another 5 would be great.

Just don’t understand that posters fixating on a 7’ big being a must land. Barnes’ system works better with athletic bigs that can switch.

He could have saved himself two minutes by simply saying Texas offered me more money than what the Tennessee staff was willing to give me.

Don’t act like it was a culture problem.
Hell, even if it was (it wasn’t) the culture would’ve been different next year anyway since almost the entire roster turned over

Lue is 6’9”. That’s not a “smaller 3/4 type.” He’s a PF/C. Carey is 6’8” and normal size for a PF.

We didn’t have a 7-footer last season. They’re extremely rare. Rubin is an inch shorter than Okpara, and like Okpara, has a massive wing span.

I agree we need another big for depth, but the bigs we have are plenty big enough. This whole conversation and narrative that they aren’t tall enough is really bizarre and frankly, feels contrived.

And before the night is over ten more post will be about how we need another legit 7 footer or the sky is falling.

IMO we need another legit 7 footer or we may be in trouble

After watching seasons end to Edey and Mara, we just were plain outmatched by Houston, I couldn’t agree more. I truly believe that Barnes’ discipline/approach lends itself perfectly to a giant, and I’m floored that Uros was the last guy who fit the bill. Pay a big man!

Mara/Michigan destroyed everyone. That same Houston team we ended up beating 7 months later. Barnes is adapting appropriately

The year we had Uros and Jonas I enjoyed watching. Uros would get 3 fouls in the first half. Jonas would come in and the opposing big man would think he was getting a break, but with Jonas long arms he was a better defender.

I know Oscar Tshiebwe experienced that dynamic first hand.

Another big as a rotational piece would be a plus, but if Harris joins the team, then the overall potential length and lift of the team will be difficult to attack. We need to trust the off-season S&C program too.

We’re not a perfect fan base, none is, and here & there someone steps over the line, human nature is what it is. But I’m telling you, after reading through a thread tonight at Rafters following Stokes’s commitment to Kansas with some of the most vile and nauseatingly overt racism and racial epithets I’ve seen in a long time, I don’t mind saying, for the most part, I’m very grateful for this board. 🏀🍊🧡

Tallest college basketball player ever, standing at 7-foot-9, entering transfer portal

Oliver Rioux ....I don't think he has committed anywhere so we'd have the tallest 7 footer !!! Go Big or Go Home😆😆
