...and that's why it's idiotic for the NCAA to do this now. I have no idea what their lawyers are telling them, but this complaint is valid.

Unless they plan to do a lot of judge shopping, the current fifth-year players should win.

Different game, different year, different JP. I had one point, which was just agreeing with what another poster said about JP against Edey when JP was a freshman. I’m not sure what you’re trying to argue, but you’re headed off in another direction.

What the hell does Juke Harris have to do with JP Estrella?! Haven’t you heard that he defended Zach Edey better than anyone?! On the other hand, Edey and that game were anomalous. Maybe someone should make those same points 782 times over 15 pages.

I see a lot of if we can get Okpara when the five year rule starts we are Final Four bound. The problem is that a bunch of fifth year players get scattered all over the country. This would clearly be a net negative for us with a good deal of the roster already set. Some teams really struggling to pull guys out of the portal would end up loaded.

No question. They wouldn’t let anyone play him. I don’t know how many FTs he averaged per game but it felt like 20+. He got away with a lot too. I’m glad someone took them down.

I'm no fan of the NCAA but it's hard to believe they are this dumb...it seems possible they are strategically being incompetent here to hopefully force Congress to act with regulatory legislation since the NCAA keeps losing in court.

The follow-up Tweet in the thread says it’s likely this gets voted on at the May 22 board meeting. If that’s the case, good luck in the courts NCAA. Choosing to vote on it now, not later in the year, and then not grandfathering in current seniors is going to unleash litigation hell this summer.

May 22. Isn't that the deadline for pulling out of the draft? Could we see a Juke/Okpara finish for the Vols? Yeah, it's early, but it's 5 o'clock somewhere as the saying goes.
