It took Bama about 2 decades to reach that level after the Bear retired. They won a Natty in 1992. I thought hings went sideways when Gene Stallings was out. They were elite when he was coaching there.Hope they keep Deboer for 2-3 more years before we are re-enter the Dubose/Franchione/Price era again!!!! Just need to find our next coach before they do!
That's what I said. They prob offered some good coaches that didn't have the nads to take that on. Thought Deboer was a good coach myself. Thought it was suicide to take that job at that time. I've alaos noticed he can do some bone headed things on the field sometimes. Saban just had the in game mastermind thing cemented in his DNA. He rarely made in game goofs. I give Deboer credit for taking on the task. He's taken some crap and earned some of it, but he has also done better than most would have following Saban. That does make sense.
I would hate to be the guy having to replace Saint Nick
So, you think none of those things are an indication of poor coaching when the team's roster is supposedly amongst the most talented in the nation?View attachment 828314
When I saw this Ty Simpson Bama offensive help stat (or lack thereof) last night in the draft, I flipped to thinking an 11-4 season, SECCG, and a road playoff win was really a heck of a coaching result for year 2 for any coach!? This must have factored into their decision to extend.
