Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I posted this in the gaming forum but posting it here also because desperate times call for desperate measures:

An old man needs pro tips.... My two teenage sons and have had a I dynasty going in College Football 26. It's a lot of fun and good bonding. But they're much better at the game than I am. I can't seem to beat them. They don't blow me out, but I usually lose late in the 4th.

Any tips from the better players that would help me assert my dominance over them?

Well the married thing is certainly scandalous. Maybe it's my cynicism but I don't count her among investigative journalists whose journalistic integrity might be compromised.

I see why their marriages would be in trouble, but not their jobs.
She's done. From the standpoint of her sources, how do you trust her to keep your information confidential when she's clearly not even professional enough to avoid doing this? From her employer, how are you gonna hire "I'm really good at getting sources I just sleep with them"?

Vrabel's job is obviously fine. Even though he's an absolute scumbag. Mind you this happens just days after he tells Treyveon Henderson his religious views are "uneducated". Then we get to hear ole blockhead describe the nuance of cheating on your wife and the mother of your kids with another married journalist.

Looks like his profile no longer exist. Last posted in July of 24. Miss that guy. Hope life is treating him well.
Seems like one where the World made up for some bad times, with good ones. Wish him well also.

Lots of folks that dont post. @BaldBiker, @nicksjuzunk, profiles dont show.

What I don't get is, she got fired after an internal investigation. Both claimed no wrong doing. nothing has ever come out definitively.

sounds to me like a wrongful termination suit is on its way.

btw never known a person to get fired on the rumor of, adultery.

She resigned, not fired. Didn’t want this playing out in public which is a clear sign everything was on the up and up 😉

She gonna sue herself?

Can someone explain to me why it's a scandal that vrabel and some espn reporter are dating? I don't want to Google it because I don't want celebrity gossip to overtake my algorithm.
Journalistic Ethics and Conflict of Interest.

This is the bigger "professional" issue. Russini is a top NFL insider whose job is to report fairly and break news on teams, coaches, and players—including the Patriots. A close (or romantic) relationship with a coach like Vrabel raises serious questions about:
  • Whether she received special access or inside information in exchange for favorable coverage.
  • Compromised objectivity (e.g., she had voted for Vrabel for Coach of the Year in the past).
  • Broader trust in sports journalism. Reporters are supposed to maintain professional distance from sources to avoid any appearance of bias.
You may not agree.

She technically resigned.

Like I said, the adultery element is irrelevant from her employer's standpoint.

Inappropriate and secret relationships with sources = journalism career over.

Just like bosses don't get fired for adultery but they do when they commit adultery with their secretary in the storage closet at work.

oh the irony of the cancellers writing up she was let go due to integrity issues with her sources. There is so much slop out there.

That makes more sense.

So what's the spread here? Seems like she's taking a pounding in all this.

She's not that legit of a journalist. All journalism is jot created equal. But agreed on everything else.

Report what fairly? She's not reporting on matters of importance to anything. Sports journalism isn't the same as real journalism.

They (her employer) asked her to provide texts/photos/emails etc confirming it was a girls trip or an attempted girls trip. She failed to do so
