Vandy Discussion [split from portal thread]

It is concerning that they seem to have found a template for athletic success in the NIL era across the athletic department and we haven’t. It took them a few years and some good hires to get going but now they’ve passed us.
No. To say that we haven’t found success with NIL is laughable.

You realize athletes still have to be admitted to the schools they're transferring to, right? Are you under the delusion that someone can skate into Vanderbilt with a dogsh*t track record?
I dated a girl that went to vandy. I barely got into Tennessee while she was easily accepted into Vandy. My track record was twice what hers was

we have found some success with the transfer portal for sure especially in basketball. I'm yet to be convinced we have made out well with NIL. In football, our largest NIL deals have been complete blunders.

Not what i meant. Tyler Tanner comments on a teammates instagram post and everyone’s like “oh **** he’s not coming, never was gonna happen”. That’s what i meant.
It is amusing. He likes a post one day and literally 5 people say things like trending or moving in our direction immediately. Like within the hour. They are adamant he’s ours to lose. Then the very next day he likes a post and 5 guys immediately go to insisting “it’s not gonna happen” or “we better have backup”. The extreme reactions are insane. And they are convinced their overreaction is valid. It used to annoy me now i just chuckle.

Certainly not. Only March matters. However across the whole AD this past year, what was our head to head record?
Just to make sure you own this dumbassery with your full chest:

You're asserting that one year where Vanderbilt performed well against Tennessee automatically proves they've "passed" our athletic department?

I swear, the way some of you people allow fear, anxiety, and insecurity to overwhelm you at the slightest hint of a setback is hilarious. Letting panic dictate all of your emotions is a sign of emotional immaturity.

This is just wrong.

They had one good year in football because they were loaded up with seniors, and a good year in basketball and still got knocked out in the second round.

To act like they’ve passed us in anyway is extremely shortsighted at best and trolling at worst.

"passed" is a strong word, but for a fact "on par" is correct. they will no longer be our whipping boy that we can count on beating every year.

Kentucky is still sh!t we will continue to soundly whoop them, but Vandy has tons more money they can invest in football than Kentucky does. If you think Vandy was a breath away from making the CFP and they are just going to walk away and say "good enough" you're willingly ignorant and your hubris is showing.

And they still finished 13th in the sec in recruiting after the best year in their history.

People who draw definitive conclusions with tiny sample sizes are much more ignorant. 😀

Nobody thinks they’ll walk away, but neither should anybody assume they’re gonna be able to repeat this year after year. And we again need to emphasize that for all of these incredible teams you folks are fapping to, they all flamed out before they got anywhere near the big stage.

Our programs have done much better and will again.
