Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

My annual grudge match with the carpenter bees is on like Donkey Kong. I was late answering the bell, but I have come out swinging with 3 confirmed kills on the afternoon.
Mine is mud daubers. They claim to be more peaceful than their vicious kin, but they make thjse gross mud nests everywhere and resemble the stinging variety of wasp closely enough that I won't tolerate them.

But man they'll put up 10+ nests on my house every year. Hello idiots, the neighbors are way lazier than I am, why don't you go set up shop over there?

My ongoing battle is with ant mounds all over my 7 acres. The 'powder' doesn't seem to be killing them off. But I take pleasure running over the monds with my riding lawn mower.
Jokes on you, they don't care one little bit if you mow their ant hills.

Boiling water has worked for me, but I don't have 7 acres.

Supposedly, according to a lawn guy I spoke with recently, the powder doesn't really work (it doesn't reach the queen and lower portions of the nest), but there are liquids that do if enough is applied. I have been procrastinating, but I'm going to look into it and launch a war on them. 2 acres here.

I thought the worker ants took the killing powder to the queen.

Kerosene for the win

(Gas, diesel, whatever is cheapest or any fuel that's gone bad will work. Works on yellow jacket nests too)

Your neighbors are probably overrun with them and the excess population is immigrating to your property. You could probably get rid of them if your neighbors weren't so lazy and would do their part, 😂

@jave36 can be a good neighbor and clean them of their house too.

I peep at their houses and I never see the nests or even the mud spots the nests leave behind. There has to be some trick to making them ignore your house. I have a great view of one of my neighbor's patio, and his has literally 0 mud spots. Maybe the color of my brick?

What is (supposedly, by insinuation) wrong, unreasonable, or questionable about Tennessee fans thinking that we should be in playoff contention every year? I don't get it. Sounds dumb to me.
At this point you have to be a consistent top 10 team to be in playoffs. In a year or two you'll only have to be a top
15 team after expansion.

Tennessee has about everything most teams have. They're one of the wealthiest programs in the sport.
