Talaysia Cooper to Ole Miss...

If you read the Basketball board, there was a list of possible transfer targets from insiders before the season even ended. Rick may not do it, but our collectives/agents are back channeling just like every other program.
Exactly my point - Thank you. If you all somehow think TN is holier than others, you’re dead wrong.

I think Coop is a better player than McMahon, more versatile more skilled. She’s going to be the best offensive player Yo has had in a long time, and exactly what she needed. Especially if she can get and keep Coops head screwed on straight. If so, she is likely very much in the mix for the W draft next year.
I think Coop is more creative and a better 3 point pct but I think you underestimate just how quick, physical and strong-willed McMahon was. I will be very surprised if Cooper matches her 19.5 pts per game average. McMahon also a little better rebounding, FG and FT numbers.

Rick brought in Polansky to help manage the roster. Found a resource early on that knew the ropes of free agency.

I suspect Coop will be a much happier human come next season after recovering from whatever had her looking so so broken this season. She'll be happier, so she'll treat her own body better nutritionally, and she'll once again have her full focus, flexibility and hand-speed back. I predict that the happy, healthy Talaysia Cooper will absolutely crush it in her final season.

And I'm going to be happy when she gets a better draft position. I already miss her.

Basketball programs pushing the rules is not a new thing. Either you catch up or get left behind. I don’t think Rick would knowingly cheat, but he knows what is allowed and will play by those rules.

She definitely wasn’t staying at TN. And no one else either. I’m missing where there was tampering. Help me out.
I didn't say she was staying, nor that I wanted her to. She only plays hard when ut suits her. Terrible body language, below average effort and always pouting. I'm not saying she's not talented, she's very talented , but she's not a team player . Yo is notorious for tampering, it's not her 1st rodeo being called out

Being ‘called out’ for tampering is not evidence of tampering. Tampering and it being proven is tampering. I haven’t seen that. I get folks being upset about the season, but piling on Cooper is absurd to me. Without her TN doesn’t have a winning record and possibly doesn’t make the tournament. I don’t pretend to know what these players go through, but some fans seem to feel that they have it worse. Disappointment is an innate human reaction here. This whole thing is a dumpster fire. I get it. But, some of these remarks towards players are on another level. Remember the good too.

Just because a coach is well liked doesn’t mean she doesn’t have to tamper. If anything it gives her more of a reason to tamper and think she can get away with it. It’s funny how Kim in every loss this season gave a steady handshake and loss with grace. Hell she got curb stomped by UConn, South Carolina, Louisville, and UCLA, but when she loss to Ole Miss that quick hand shake, and no eye contact with Yo tells it all. Something was definitely going on. Some of you care not to acknowledge that because of your hate with Coach Kim. It is what it is. Coop is at OM now.

Her effort and body language better get better or she will sit her arse on the bench. When she does that everyone will see hiw much dragged arse for UT. Either way it's not a good look
I don't recall her attitude or body language being a problem under Dawn, nor was that brought up when she was forced to sit out a year instead of being allowed to play immediately for Kellie after transferring late. But it's a problem now maybe she went from coaches given a damn about her on and off the court to a coach who could care less about her at all.

Has CKC shown any love towards any of her players or a sense that she is welcoming. I remember Boyd trying to hug her and her pushing Boyd away after the game.

Also, the constant references to Cooper’s demeanor are unfair. Her demeanor is not necessarily indicative of her competitive nature, pride, loyalty or anything of the like. And some of the comments and expectations are borderline micro aggressions. This is in part why coaches like Coach Yo, Dawn Staley, etc are so important and resonate so deeply as both role models for young women as well as people who deeply understand things that some simply won’t.

Players are people. These are young people. And what Talaysia Cooper has dealt with and is actively dealing with is no joke. It’s easy to sit on the sidelines and judge, assume, blame etc with little idea of what someone is carrying in addition to putting on a uniform. How many people have been offered Coop level money and left it on the table for the opportunity to pursue their personal best? As a young, developing human being, she still deserves to be happy, supported and at peace - even if she was horrible at TN. Which she wasn’t.

Nobody has to support her but attacking her or wishing her failure etc. Smh.

As much as we love TN, there are bigger things than basketball. This is their life!

Very much agree. Go back and watch Coop during games last year when things were going well -- lot the same posture, head angle, eye movements, etc. It's just her demeanor. Making judgments on behavior, including elements such as these, is fair, but only when done against a baseline and with a sizeable observation set.
