I wouldn’t say it’s “triggering”. Personally, I don’t think it’s smart to insult a program that supported her son for two years, but she’s certainly entitled to feel frustrated. Think people should do better to not have their first action be to run to social media, but that goes for everyone not just a player’s parent.

Tanner: 6'0" 170lbs SO PG, 19.5ppg, 3.6rpg, 5.1apg, 2.4spg, shot 48.5% FG, 36.8% 3PT, 85.3% FT

I think Tanner with his defense AND SEC experience would be the preferred option, but if Ebuka can be brought in for even a few 100k less than Tanner...yeah I'd be fine with that

Plus she’s hijacking Mashack’s thread, which wasn’t specifically about Tennessee, which she made clear. Puts her in an awkward situation.

An EO alone won’t do much. But he can withhold Federal funding to individual schools and more idealistically draw attention to it and force Congress to get involved.

Withholding funds for research because of sports is stupid. Academics need to take back their institutions. They aren’t there to play ball games and they really have been cut out of any profits coming from playing a game.

Ebuka was really all Stanford had. I wouldn't be mad at either.

Seems as if you’re against the concept of social media? Momma Bos literally said nothing in that post that specifically attacks or insults the Tennessee program. She’s a single mom whose son has poured his heart and soul into the Tennessee program for 2 years and things didn’t work out how they hoped. Seems like she deserves some grace by the fanbase instead of insults and accusations. JMO

I think we’re all smart enough to be able to draw conclusions that in an 8-post thread from Mashack’s mom about the transfer portal, the one Momma Bos chose to quote tweet was about certain programs offensive style not does not appropriately feature or prepare players for the NBA. A common and somewhat reductive analysis of Barnes offense. She doesn’t have to say the word “Tennessee” for it to be clear who she is talking about.

I guess my point is, what does she gain from this? We had an entire team worth of players quietly enter the portal without trying to throw the program under the bus on their way out the door. Sometimes airing your dirty laundry is best done privately not with a microphone. That’s all I’ll say.

Totally different players. Both are great 3-level scorers but Tanner is in the top 5% of PnR runners and Ebuka is a pure scorer. I’d pay significantly more for Tanner.

I think the difference in offers could potentially be in the millions. But that’s just me reading into things. Nothing confirmed. I honestly doubt we have had much, if any interaction with Ebuka.

I would love for Boswell to return. He plays good defense. Shut down Iowa State’s main scorer. I think he had 8 assists in that game. He can play some point. His scoring should improve. He will be a junior next year. He plays hard. You need leaders and he would have been one for Tennessee next year.

In today’s age you don’t cross a bridge and then burn it.
Obviously she wasn’t overtly critical as you stated but anyone with decent comprehension and reasoning knows this was a shot at the staff. If it wasn’t I’d be very shocked.

I’m like you: what on earth does she have to gain from that other than it made her feel good for 30 seconds?

Heart and soul doesn't bail on a program that allowed you to win 55 games in 2 years and make back to back elite eights. I'm also not sure how much better they expected things to work out? If staff had landed any of the SG targets they were after Bishop wouldn't have even started this year.
