5 left, Henderson, Evans, Burg, Carey & Brown although I think a couple more leaving is likely. I don’t necessarily love it, like you said I was a big proponent of needing to retain some guys, I don’t remember if I put a number out there on what I felt they needed to retain but definitely didn’t want a total flip. I get the premise and business side of it, time will tell, maybe they can do it with mostly new faces.Thoughts @bleedingTNorange on the roster overhaul? You were very vocal about the importance of roster continuity and experience in the system before the off-season. Seems like that is out the window now and our veteran players are going to be a handful of sophomores with limited minutes playing.
That's about the most pessimistic post I've ever seen from you.5 left, Henderson, Evans, Burg, Carey & Brown although I think a couple more leaving is likely. Best keep this written in pencil and have your eraser handyLeaving: Ja'Kobi, Felix, Abram, JP, Cade, Bishop, Massamba
Returning: Troy, Evans, Brown, Burg, Carey
Incoming: Lundblade, Scott, Green, Clark
9 of 15 spots taken...I think we've got a HS F set to commit and they also likely have a portal target or two ready to announce once things open up officially.
Kinda saw this writing on the wall with @Stoerner Fumbles note about justifying retaining guys with a data driven approach, in conjunction with the skyrocketing valuations. I’m definitely not implying it’s a bad approach. But if you are being shown data why you are being offered below or at market, and it ends up being significantly below market, then you are going to take the better deal.Thoughts @bleedingTNorange on the roster overhaul? I disagree about Estrella. He’s very skilled offensively and hasn’t logged many minutes in 3 years. I hate losing him.I appreciate Boswell and Estrella for their time at Tennessee. But after watching us in these elite eight games and watching final four matchups, they aren’t the kind of players that get you there. Would be great as off the bench contributors, but not your go to guys in crunch time.
Couple more with Henderson likely and one of Care, Brown, and probably Evans is not great.5 left, Henderson, Evans, Burg, Carey & Brown although I think a couple more leaving is likely. His shot wasn’t the problem. He had a green light to shoot whenever he was playing. He just didn’t play much because of lack of defense/effort combined with some questionable extracurricularsdon't forget Cam Carr only averaged 1.6ppg and 4.8ppg when he was at UT. That doesn't mean he was incapable of snooting.
