Happy Tuesday
Scripture — Mark 4:21 (NIV)
“He said to them, ‘Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don’t you put it on its stand?’”
Reflection
Jesus is speaking about something meant to be seen. A lamp exists to give light. To hide it is to deny its purpose. In the same way, the truth of God—once received—is not meant to stay private, muted, or tucked away where it makes no difference.
This isn’t about drawing attention to yourself. It’s about not concealing what God has made clear in you. Faith that never leaves the interior—never shapes words, actions, or decisions—starts to dim. But when truth is lived openly, even in small and steady ways, it naturally gives light to others.
There’s also a quiet question here: What are you doing with what you’ve been given? Insight, conviction, growth—these are not meant to sit idle. They are meant to be placed where they can actually illuminate something—your work, your relationships, your choices.
Sometimes people hide the light out of fear, hesitation, or uncertainty. But Jesus doesn’t frame it as optional. A lamp belongs on a stand. What God has placed in you has a purpose beyond you.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the light You’ve placed in my life. Help me not to hide it out of fear or hesitation. Give me courage to live out what You’ve shown me—with clarity, humility, and consistency. Let my life reflect Your truth in a way that quietly but clearly brings light to others. Amen.
