So back earlier in the season in November during the players era event. The crew interviewed him & asked who he would want to play, then these were his comments (start at 6:00 mark):

Very good college player who can find a place in the NBA but if he was so fantastic and highly regarded by the NBA he would have went pro years ago. NBA drafts on future potential. As a senior he should have advantages over a freshman who is still growing into his body. I hope Nate lights him up.

If there’s ever a game for Nate to play his best, it’s tomorrow. This is it. We need everyone at their best to win tomorrow

If he's a good player who thinks he's not regarded fairly by the NBA, then it only makes sense for him to say this.

Yaxel didn’t start playing basketball until late in life. He was a first round pick last year but got a big NIL bag to go to Michigan

If there was ever a time in UT basketball history where we needed our team to respond with a win, well, that time is now. Really hoping Ament and company shut this guy the hell up!! I don’t care that these comments were from a few months ago. Pepper is fired up damnit!!!

He is not worthy of wearing #23. Jordan wouldn’t talk smack through the media. He did it on the court and backed it up. Classless.

He’s a loser. Talented, but a loser. Hope that program and how cocky they’ve been all season long gets a bit of humble pie today.

This really isn't about Ament versus Lendeborg. It's our front court versus theirs. Up until recent weeks I would say they had a big advantage. In the tourney though I would put our front court against anyone's. Looking forward to this game, I just hope the refs call it evenly so its not us getting into foul trouble early.

Hopefully Nate uses this experience as fuel in the weightroom. I'm sure he will fill out over the course of the next 2 to 3 years and get the last laugh in the NBA
