Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Gillespie is as clutch as it gets. They just said we didnt score a FG in the last 3mins 49secs of that game...and won. He went 6/6 and put the team on his back at the end to get the win. Can't believe that bald head dude shot an airball 3 when he was wide open. Feel sorry for him honestly. Never live that down

Tournament basketball is different than regular season basketball, everybody is good, but If you can play tenacious defense, protect the basketball and make your free throws you can overcome almost everything except a team that’s just on fire and shooting the lights out. It’s a competitive mindset.

I said in this thread earlier this season that I didnt think we would make the 16 this year because we suck at free throws. Worst I can remember under Barnes. If we shot 80% as a team we beat Kentucky twice, Vandy twice, etc. Would have been a 2seed probably...we shot under 50% in some of those SEC games. Which is disgraceful. I am glad we were able to get Gillespie the ball amd he was so clutch.

Estrella isn’t the most consistent player in the world, but by geez he is a gamer and competitor, battled like hell in the paint.
When he is healthy and has a decent match up he is nearly unstoppable at times. Had several 20pt 10rb games early in the season and against lesser competition. He kinda reminds me of Fulkerson with his physical play inside.
