NFL guys love him. He was Lamar's QB coach when he won his 2nd MVP. This is just a bridge position, I'm sure next year he'll take a better job and someone will make another thread and y'all can come hate the man some more.Respected for what? He seems rather average throughout his coaching career, one step forward, two back. I really don’t think much of this move and always thought he was overrated, so going back to Kiffin as an “analyst” looks like a stopgap move.

It was early in the NFL coaching cycle when Harbaugh left the Ravens and didn't decide to bring Tee with him. Then, the entire league had the opportunity to poach Tee if they wanted him. Assistant coaches change teams all the time. Nobody chose to hire him. If NFL guys loved him, then he'd be coaching in the NFL right now. It's late in the NFL coaching carousel cycle, so probably not a ton of options open right now.
It's a good move for Tee to step back and do a year as an analyst somewhere.
He doesn't have the grind of recruiting, but still can do what he loves, which is coach.
Like it or not, if you are going to be an offensive analyst, might a well do it for one of the best offensive minds in the game today.
He'll jump back up to an NFL spot next season, if not later this season.
I do not know what Tee is making. But a couple million to help you and your family you can take a chance. Congratulations Tee.I have a hard time saying this is “good” for him. Looks more like a reset. I suppose resets are good sometimes…
Maybe I don’t understand the analyst position - is it code word for “you know your X’s and O’s, but you are unhirable right now for some reason so we will stick you in a film room and pay you a tiny salary and maybe you get a chance at a lower college down the road or pro team and reinvent yourself (Kiffin, Butch, etc)?”
Why can’t Tee get a better job? He has a resume in both college and pro. I’m not aware of him doing anything wrong, unethical, etc. What gives? Was it just timing?
After the crap Kiffin just pulled with his Ole Miss staff, why would Tee want to put up with the toxicity? Can he just not handle being away from the game for one season? Kids, wife, girlfriend in LA?
Put me in the mind of Tee and educate me why he would take this job.
Thanks

Salary ain't great, saw Stoops is only making 30k for a similar position as Butch but at TexasLike Heupel hiring Littrell or Saban hiring Butch Jones, these guys need "image rehab" and they're cheap to hire as analysts. Sark picked up Mark Stoops as a "special assistant" or whatever and the salary is probably not like an "assistant coach."
Tee feeds the family, keeps his name out there by calling recruits and HS coaches, maybe he works in the box during games in some way, maybe he's an NIL/school liaison, etc.
If LSU comes to town and wins and he lights a cigar....... he's dead to me.
And you will come back propping him up again. Its the circle of life on VolnationNFL guys love him. He was Lamar's QB coach when he won his 2nd MVP.
